@cash4sellers plastic and light is good, try to breath more often, iv noticed people hold their breath whilst they skip coz they get so worried about the technique.

hey bud while running you should land on the ball of your feet and toes thats what running is it is a series of controlled falls that propel you forward. its really hard to actually run hitting your whole foot on the floor and it is also really bad for you because the ground has a reaction force that will put to much pressure on your feet and body which can lead to injury.
for skipping you should invest in some good shoes if you are doing it on a hard surface.
good job man rope skipping is definitely a respectable skill it takes alot of work I think Im gonna add it to my work out routine on a more regular basis

Great! I sucked at first... after just a few weeks, I'm hundreds of times better. It's really amazing how fast you progress with this. At first you will get SUPER frustrated and feel like an idiot and keep getting caught up. Then, one day, you will be amazed at how your brain gets the rhythm and synchs up your feet. I don't get it, I recently started boxing and skipping is a required workout, I can skip by alternating on foot at a time, but for some reason my form doesn't look as good as yours/other boxers in my gym. Is there a reason for this?
I've just started skipping for fitness and it's working out great. Thought i'd try some new moves out as i'd only been doing basic and running on the spot.
You are insane though. I will try to do some of that stuff and will probably fail miserably for a long time.

yep...... about 2" every second or so - averages a 1" increase all the while your skipping....
really though stuff like yoga will improve your posture and you will walk at full height so you will start to appear taller..

I've always been told when running that you shouldn't run on your toes, does this apply with skipping?
