i don't understand how this is called a tug. it is not a displacement hull, it is apparently light and has a shallow draft.

It is not for towing barges, and the name is based on appearance. Large forward windows and the little plastic "smokestack" (which actually houses a radar reflector) give it a tug-like appearance. It's a light, fast, trailerable trawler.

that's my pt....it is neither a tug nor a trawler, both of which have deep draft (stable in rough seas) and slow speed. i get that it "looks like a tug". Do you own this one?

Looks like a nice little boat. I read about it recently in a short story by a guy who cruised from Ohio down to New Orleans.... earning 1/2 of the "Looper" title. The music on the video needs some improvement, though. Whew.
