I'm from Las Vegas and know both the kid (Chad) that created this and the Stake President that excommunicated him. It was NOT because of this calendar, which is COMPLETELY against the strict modesty teachings of the church, but it was because he was living and having sex with a girl out of wedlock, which is an offense that is punishable by excommunication if not willing to repent against.
The man who organized this calendar was excommunicated from the Mormon Church and even though he completed school, BYU has refused to give him his degree based on "violation of ethics code" He is currently suing them. Why was this flagged they just have their shirts off.

Yeah they are. The guy who did this as a school project at BYU (Mormon University) got in trouble with the Church because they felt it was sacrilegious. His status as a graduated student is in question now.

You do get excommunicated for having sex with a person of the same gender.
Mormons don't hate gay people (well, some do, but then they're not good mormons). They do believe that your sexual orientation is to do with your mind, not with genetics. Scientists haven't disproved this yet, but I suspect they will soon. If a person announces he's gay to mormons, they will try and help the person become straight, usually.
You can't change someone's sexuality, nor make them straight. I watched this documentary about this woman who received a letter from the LDS church that said she had to go to an Ex-communcation hearing or something. The only possible reason was because she was a lesbian. She abided by the rules and doctrines. So, she was being ex-communicated for being gay.
I was thinking it over in my head and I now realize that anyone could have gotten 12 sex-happy models, called them "Mormon", and made up stories about their supposed "Mormon" lives and "missions" they served. How do we know these sex models are even Mormon? I bet this is just a ploy to dupe Mormon girls into buying soft-porn.
Also, the fact that I had to confirm my birth date to watch this video due to explicit content shows that even the world outside the church finds this erotic. I generally follow the "inappropriate for minors" warning as "inappropriate for Mormons" and stay away from them. I'm from Las Vegas and know both the kid (Chad) that created this and the Stake President that excommunicated him. It was NOT because of this calendar, which is COMPLETELY against the strict modesty teachings of the church, but it was because he was living and having sex with a girl out of wedlock, which is an offense that is punishable by excommunication if not willing to repent against.

first of all, this calendar is not a big deal.
but the creator was tossed from the church not for the innocuous content but for, among other things, challenging the leaderships' authority...the calendar was simply the catalyst. Church wants to maintain the power to define its public image. now, you can make an argument against that...

honestly from a zoologists perspective the difference is that one of the big reasons for being a polygamous species is to mate and reproduce as much as possible and hopefully pass on your genes. Monogamous species reproduce less often and so therefore sex isn't a major part. so yeah i guess that makes the final statement you made false

we are talking about 2 different aspects of sex. you are talking about sexual reproduction from a zoologist's perspective, i am talking about sexuality (eroticism) from the human perspective, which is what the calendar attempts to evoke. My point is that polygamy is no more about sexuality (eroticism) than is monogamy; both can be equally sexual or non-sexual, so the claim that the lds church is obsessed with sex and that polygamy is inherently disgusting is simply false.

It seems like you need to study History 101, ajani1000, before you start voluntarily preaching it on YouTube. Mormons have nothing to do with Europe - except that they flooded it on missions from the US trying to get the cult's prisoners ALSO in Europe. I think it has less to do with the calendar and more to do with homophobia. The calendar is very homoerotic. Gay men are the only ones buying this calendar (maybe, a hag or two as well). In a world where lately Mormons have been made into monsters by the media, I think it is refreshing to see that they are just as human as anyone else, and that they all don't look as frumpy and plain as the ones we see on tv. I think it is a great way to get rid of some of the sterotypes around the Mormon religion. WHen I was a kid, we had Mormon friends, and I can remember thinking how weird their customs were, that is what stays with me. Now, to see all this FLDS stuff....

You do get excommunicated for having sex with a person of the same gender.
Mormons don't hate gay people (well, some do, but then they're not good mormons). They do believe that your sexual orientation is to do with your mind, not with genetics. Scientists haven't disproved this yet, but I suspect they will soon. If a person announces he's gay to mormons, they will try and help the person become straight, usually.

I watched this documentary about this woman who received a letter from the LDS church that said she had to go to an Ex-communcation hearing or something. The only possible reason was because she was a lesbian. She abided by the rules and doctrines. So, she was being ex-communicated for being gay.

Also, the fact that I had to confirm my birth date to watch this video due to explicit content shows that even the world outside the church finds this erotic. I generally follow the "inappropriate for minors" warning as "inappropriate for Mormons" and stay away from them. It's sad that I now have to be cautious on youtube when seeing things regarding my own church! I am truly disappointed!

This is completley and morally wrong.
if these are real returned missionaries, then they obviously didnt learn anything from their missions.
the church in no way supports this. if you are a mormon u should probably stay away from stuff like this, its of the devil.

They also sell Tshirts in their website with missionaries and the phrase "Missionary Position." Again... cheap, tasteless and unethical. They can do whatever they want, but they shouldn't promote their cause at the expense of the Church's image. C'mon have some common sense. This is not a self-righteous comment.

"Stop trying to represent for the church." That is exactly what some members of the Church would want these guys to do. They don't need to use the Church missionary image to do their provocative calendar. The calendar is not wrong in itself, it is that they use the image of the Church to create a fetish effect for it... that is cheap and unethical. If these guys want to pose shirtless it is completely fine, but don't use sexual innuendo.

all your thougts in our church is wrong!, are you forgetting something? they were all a FORMER MEMBEr so all peaple who trying to say something about our church! you are such achildish attitude!stop pretending you know everything! we claim our previlegdes to worship in what we wnt!,and we laet all people to worship thier religion in what,where or when they may!
