Euphoria is NOT a physics engine, however it is a character animation engine that can be used in conjunction with a physics engine, which is why certain games can use BOTH. That's right, havok can be used alongside Euphoria. There's a game that does this specifically, though I forget the title.

20 times better than ragdoll, saves time, but still a little... weird. In GTA4 i remember seeing people looking intensely to a car slowly crushing them to death, instead of trying to get out of the way. Maybe the AI needs polishing.

@armadyllah Yeah that's right, Rockstar's own game engine is RAGE but R* is the only franchise who uses Euphoria(Most effectively) in their games unlike Starwars and Backbreaker which are the only other games using this tech !

This physics engine, for me, is what made Grand Theft Auto IV so special, it truly represented the next step that the game took from its predecessors.

you can tell that this is was used in GTA 4. Some of these exact animations where put into GTA 4. I always loved how an NPC would stumble around like at 1:24 .

@JamDP1100 Of course Euphoria LE version is different than the base Euphoria version. In fact if you look at GTA 4 you can see the rag doll physics work exactly the same to this demo.

Euphoria and Unreal are my two favourite engines of this day.

Havok does my fucking nut in. When I shoot people, I like them to respond to being shot, not just see a splash of blood as they continue moving and shooting.

Euphoria actually does something when I shoot people, and Unreal just tends to be awesome.

Here's an idea... On the next football game they should be a lot more athletic than in this demonstration. Professional athletes arent like regular people it takes a lot more to knock them down or make them lose their balance... Just a thought...

@BushDoctor02 It's just a demo. Backbreaker was a full scale demo made by naturalmotion to get a bit of money while showing off their (awesome) engine. You want realism? Play/watch football, not a video game.

Next-Gen consoles include the Xbox 360, the PS3, and the PC.

They are basically referring to anything but the Wii (which doesn't have as much graphics capability), the PS2, the original Xbox, and so on..

Thank You : This is why there is NO comparison between BB and Madden. NM is attempting to introduce a NEW technology to a Football game such a thing NEEDS time to develop.
