You generally start small at school and get your own line and work your way up over the years. There's no real specific level of difficulty... It's easier for some people and harder than others. Of course, if you get started on a show like this, it doesn't matter if you win or not. People are already interested because of all the publicity and getting started is easier. It all depends.

They obviously dont understand the circumstances. I mean think about it, those models are extremely tall. They arent going to show as much weight as someone who is very short. Take it from me, I am 6 ft tall and i eat like a pig. I know this doesnt go for all models but give them a break!

The required model height is pretty damn tall so of course it appears as if theyre super skinny but their body measurements are actually pretty normal. Theres also a limit as to how thin a model can be. If she goes under this minimum, she wont be hired.

@puppilove1996 I used to feel the same way, but I watched an interview with a model about their figures and she said that it has nothing to do with them. That they devote themselves to the clothes and fashion. They're more like "hangers" rather than people! I'm thinking ok... that sucks! But many of them love fashion and obviously this model in particular put herself second to the clothes. I guess its a style of art, you don't have to like it but... i think its good to respect it.
@puppilove1996 I know that there are a lot of eating disorders in the modeling world, but who are you to pass judgment on their appearance? There are plenty of healthy girls who are naturally this skinny or even skinnier. Like saying that wouldn't be okay if you flipped it around and said, "They are way too fucking fat" about a group of overweight ladies. I realize there are problems with anorexia, but still don't say things like that because it applies to girls who are naturally that skinny.

That Suede guy has talent, and its cool that he isn't afraid to do pants. That Kendal girl is good too. But the winner is just awful. She made a bunch of seafoam green weird stuff with up and down pleats that look like sails on everything. They can't think that anyone will buy it. I don't think they let the good ones win on purpose.
Where do you live? I live in Tokyo and see people buying this stuff alot, as rediculous as it might be. People in certain parts of the world buy into 'all that glitters is gold' and need to be seen wearing this stuff. Hey, if you have the money why not be fabulous!
well maybe fashion is not the stuff for you. Fashion shows are done to show the public what clothing trends are in on a certain season or era. These clothes are actually the basis of what commercial clothing companies release for us common people to buy.
bendutta2008...I get what you're saying but think of it like an auto show. The cars at an auto show represent the "idea" of the look. The actual design that ends up on the lot is a more practical version. Much of what is on the runway is for publicity to the designers label. And yes....Dresses are bought by people with the means for 10's of thousands of dollars. Many see some of this as works of art.
they always throw a way more talented artists and leave bloody simpleton craftsmen probably in order to shy brighter on their background and not to let them develope into real stars.and actually when there are selected judges it is always all about satisfying their own petty ego ambitions at the expense of participants and always unfair.

Leanne's ruffles? look like those fold out paper ruffled Christmas ornaments at super markets. Other than that it's brilliant - NOT. This runway sucket but if I had to choose - definately Korto...
Korto's line was kinda boring. She had some interesting pieces, but I don't think that she takes enough risk. Plus her fit isn't as good as Kenley's or Leanne's. I'm not saying that she's a bad designer, I'm just saying that I'd like to see more risks.
And Leanne's line was amazing. She's technically adept and she's very innovative.
I won't even comment on the guys. I loved Korto's designs, but Leanne's was absolutely stunning. I would be proud if either of them won. I need a Korto design now. lol I really like her colorful style.
Honestly there is no question. Leanne blew everyone away but korto. However Leanne's was better than korto's too. She had a view it was stunning and she did beautifully. Really no way to debate this one the winner has to be Leanne. Her architecturally soft style for this finale was lovely. You can see she used water as her main muse.
Wearable and chic coutoure and so much more the only other one who could beat her is korto. Still LEanne blew me away

@puppilove1996 Ok it's a common misconception. Consider their height. The required model height is pretty damn tall so of course it appears as if theyre super skinny but their body measurements are actually pretty normal. Theres also a limit as to how thin a model can be. If she goes under this minimum, she wont be hired.

@puppilove1996 I used to feel the same way, but I watched an interview with a model about their figures and she said that it has nothing to do with them. That they devote themselves to the clothes and fashion. They're more like "hangers" rather than people! I'm thinking ok... that sucks! But many of them love fashion and obviously this model in particular put herself second to the clothes. I guess its a style of art, you don't have to like it but... i think its good to respect it.

@puppilove1996 I know that there are a lot of eating disorders in the modeling world, but who are you to pass judgment on their appearance? There are plenty of healthy girls who are naturally this skinny or even skinnier. Like saying that wouldn't be okay if you flipped it around and said, "They are way too fucking fat" about a group of overweight ladies. I realize there are problems with anorexia, but still don't say things like that because it applies to girls who are naturally that skinny.

the other two were ghastly. i was really dissapointed in jerrelle like seriously. i was expecting great things from him, but in the end he failed to deliver.

That Suede guy has talent, and its cool that he isn't afraid to do pants. That Kendal girl is good too. But the winner is just awful. She made a bunch of seafoam green weird stuff with up and down pleats that look like sails on everything. They can't think that anyone will buy it. I don't think they let the good ones win on purpose.

A few things I do not understand:
1) Whats the point of going to a fashion show? Can you buy the outfits there?
2) How can people afford all these glamor clothes? Do people really drop $900 on a pair of pants?
3) How come I never see people in public actually wearing the outfits seen in a show?

Where do you live? I live in Tokyo and see people buying this stuff alot, as rediculous as it might be. People in certain parts of the world buy into 'all that glitters is gold' and need to be seen wearing this stuff. Hey, if you have the money why not be fabulous!

well maybe fashion is not the stuff for you. Fashion shows are done to show the public what clothing trends are in on a certain season or era. These clothes are actually the basis of what commercial clothing companies release for us common people to buy.

bendutta2008...I get what you're saying but think of it like an auto show. The cars at an auto show represent the "idea" of the look. The actual design that ends up on the lot is a more practical version. Much of what is on the runway is for publicity to the designers label. And yes....Dresses are bought by people with the means for 10's of thousands of dollars. Many see some of this as works of art.

they always throw a way more talented artists and leave bloody simpleton craftsmen probably in order to shy brighter on their background and not to let them develope into real stars.and actually when there are selected judges it is always all about satisfying their own petty ego ambitions at the expense of participants and always unfair.

Leanne's ruffles? look like those fold out paper ruffled Christmas ornaments at super markets. Other than that it's brilliant - NOT. This runway sucket but if I had to choose - definately Korto...

Korto's line was kinda boring. She had some interesting pieces, but I don't think that she takes enough risk. Plus her fit isn't as good as Kenley's or Leanne's. I'm not saying that she's a bad designer, I'm just saying that I'd like to see more risks.
And Leanne's line was amazing. She's technically adept and she's very innovative.

I won't even comment on the guys. I loved Korto's designs, but Leanne's was absolutely stunning. I would be proud if either of them won. I need a Korto design now. lol I really like her colorful style.

Honestly there is no question. Leanne blew everyone away but korto. However Leanne's was better than korto's too. She had a view it was stunning and she did beautifully. Really no way to debate this one the winner has to be Leanne. Her architecturally soft style for this finale was lovely. You can see she used water as her main muse.
Wearable and chic coutoure and so much more the only other one who could beat her is korto. Still LEanne blew me away
