  • Dirk when did you start doing ventriloquism and what type of puppet did you have ps when did you start making money for performances? And is that your only job?

  • Hiya: Enjoyed seeing the catalogues. I have Lovik figure, circa 1970 - and I always wondered what Andy's maker looked like. Thank you for providing that . See you in 2012!

  • I took the Maher course in the late 1970s, after ordering a cheap plastic figure. I never performed in public, but liked to read my Newsy Vent newsletter, and dream of attending a convention. I remember writing them a letter about sound substitutes, and they sent back an encouraging reply. The Maher studio also offered muppet-like puppets, and I still have mine, a girl with blonde pigtails I call Rosie. Thanks for the memories!

  • @missusmoon That's very cool .. Glad I could help you with that trip down memory lane ! I still have my collection of Newsy Vents ! And I'm planning on attending this years Ventriloquist ConVENTion too ! Thanks for watching my clip ..

  • Hey. That is pretty darn cool. I recently Bought a craig lovik figure from ebay. Well still waiting for it to arrive from the USA. Apprently his name is Ernie but i dont have any way of looking to know if its his real name. Thru your catalogue Ernie looks like one were it says Nudger. Actaully looking thru your video with detail i see him. His name is Archie. its in the maher workshop catalogue on the first page as you open it. Wow. I want more details

  • @Pupepepets It's a lever on the inside of the body .. connected to the leg or legs .. when pushed.. it would cause the legs to move .. OK .. !
