hi. i got the ps3 disc today but ps3s not with me atm. i was wondering if the ps3/xbox netflix streaming has better quality picture than the pc cause on the pc it looks pretty shitty. i remember i was watching netflix on an xbox and its hard to remember but i thing the quality was a bit better. idk

FYI to all that own Plasma TV's. The PS3 will NOT go to screen saver with the new netflix disk in. If you fall asleep when watching a movie, the netflix image will burn your plasma. Another reason XBOX360 is better!!!!

So I just checked Netflix's website and they are sending out setup disks for PS3s so you can watch movies without Playon. Nice!

just a little note to all of you guys. Netflix is coming to the ps3 next month just like the xbox 360 (layout will be a little different), but all the same features including HD streaming.

Actually. Its already here. As of yesterday. Go to Netflix and order the CD. Requires a DVD for now but they will integrate it next year.

Uninstall? Just remove it from the PC you have it installed on. Or shutdown the service. Installing it is easy.. just install it on a PC that the PS3 can connect to?

how come when i try to play a netflix movie on my PS3 it says "Corrupted Data"?

I have some serious lag with the PS3. If I get through the buffering portion of the Netflix logo screen, the movie stops every two seconds. I tried hooking up the computer directly to my router; however, the lag continues. Any advice?

I assume you PS3 is not wireless as well. If not try that. I have had this same problem before. The last time it happened I checked for a PlayOn update. After the update it went away.. If its the same problem I had. If the update doesn't work. Pause the video for a couple seconds (lets say 10 seconds). Then start the video. See if that helps in playback. Would be a buffering issue then. You might tell send request to TheMediaMall about it.

Everything is wireless. I'll try a few other things. Otherwise, I'll hook up my computer directly to the TV to stream directly from Netflix. There is no lag when I access Netflix while watching movies/shows on my laptop.

Also.. You have to take into account the PS3 and Xbox are easier to setup all over the house.. You can have one PC somewhere. Then litter your house with Xbox consoles. Like my brother. They take 2 seconds to setup and look better than a PC. But if you only have one. Then a PC works. My brother has 7. So the PS3 or Xbox works better. PS3 works awesome cause it's wireless.. Just slap it in place and you are up and running.

Yes. because it requires PlayOn (Which is loaded on the PC). On the Xbox 360 the client is built in or you can use PlayOn

I will say that with the 3.0 update, the XMB is becoming more like the 360's with ad placement. still, there's a very different feel to each of the interfaces.

I use PlayOn on my PS3 networked to my PC. It works seamlessly and flawlessly - TOTALLY worth the 40 bones for the software. It takes almost no time to set-up and being a techie geek is definately not a requirement. Bravo PlayOn, BRAVO!! One more note: You can add movies to you're netflix queue through the PS3 web browser. It's a little clunky but can be done; I just add a ton of stuff to my "Play it Now" queue in netflix when I'm online on my PC - IT ALL SHOWS UP THROUGH PLAYON ON THE PS3!

Yes. The Instant streaming stuff that you can watch through PlayOn, you Xbox 360 or your pc doesn't have as great of selection as the in the mail version, but its pretty good and getting better
