I keep coming back and watching this. I didn't care a whole lot for the paper tearing scene, but otherwise I really, really liked the production.... or maybe it was just Natalie's magic.

i would have to see the entire production to really make a judgment, but this video made me smile.

The first night crowd booed the production and Zimmerman didn't even take a bow. What's the difference between that and this evening's production, which got enthusiastic applause all through and a standing roar at the end. The difference is that the sort of people who make a point of attending first nights have a large number of people who want to be able to tell everyone who will listen what they saw and what they think about it. A bunch of shallow would be critics. I loved it.

This production is beyond stupid. All this dancing, jumping and comic gags distract from the romantic atmosphere which Bellini wanted and the obvious focus, ie the singing. Her physical exertions tire her vocal production momentarily. Although her voice now sounds fuller, Dessay is no longer a young woman and these ridiculous stage antics cannot help her respiratory reserve. Her recent recording is excellent, though, and miles ahead of the frequently transposed and grotesquely affected Bartoli.

Stupid production. And I hate all the useless shots of the extras flopping around behind her. Natalie is doing all the work and Natalie is the most interesting to watch. Keep the cameras on her please.

<3 Her voice is fabulous no matter what anyone says. Her voice seems a bit heavier, not quite a dramatic, but its definitely fuller. I love her. Always wills, no matter what haters says. HATERZ GONN HAAAAATTTTTTEEEEEEEE.
