I used to play this all the time! Family video had a deal that you could get free game rentals for every A on your report card! Me and my cousin got straight As and we went and rented this game, Mario Party 3, Bomber Man, and Diddy Kong Racing! I miss these games they were so much fun! :D

@Blitzwing989 No, not really, there are TONS more differences than story and characters. This only had 2d boards. SS had 3d boards. I have to agree, Mario party is awesome, but I own a Dreamcast and play SS. I'm probably gonna get MP 8 for wii.

here there were those minigames that could make a difference. Like the one where 1 can grab someone else to steal 1/3 of their coins.

And of course, the ever annoying ! space.

Now, the benefit of luck has been nerfed as I'd say it, while luck was kinda the factor that made mario party fun

I just loved to play Mario Party 2 and 3 when I was younger, I played them non-stop everyday, it was alot of fun. And I wish that they put Mario Party 1 - 3 to Virtual Console someday!!

Thats nothing compared to the torture you will endure in mario party 2. I forgot the name of the minigame but you had to wind up shy guys and whoevers got the farthest won. Easy cpu players could beat me with ease :(

one of the most memorable games in mario party (at least to me),was the filet relay (or something like that) and that game where you bet on boo,thwomp,bom omb or that giant rock wich falls on you from mario 64 and if the one on wich you bet wins you get money.pure luck xD
