Also which steppers are you using? I have never been able to get my extruder to turn that fast. Im using the makerbot nema17 motors. But I have a new set of lin engineering 4218L-01D-02 that Im thinking of trying out. I think the makerbot motors are good for the X and Y but The lin's should work well on the Z and the extruder. I am also looking in to using the Pololu drivers. I need to work out a better setup before my friends built theirs.
iv never seen anything print that fast is that normal? Im building one of these now are the pololou stepper drivers easy to interface with the gen3 electronics?
@stdavross666 We print at 55mm/s but have successfully printed a tray of 6 vertices at 70mm/s. It really depends on your definition of easy, we use strip board a few headers and simple soldering to make ours. The 1/16th stepping resolution isn’t required for the Z-axis, so we only use Pololu’s on the X and Y. If you need any help/advice shoot me an email.
Are you using the Pololu on the extruder?
