Glad I wasn't alive when the dinosaurs were. But according to genesis, humans were alive during dinosaurs. But what happened to the dinosaurs after sin started? A bunch then became meat eaters? Wouldn't have many eaten humans? I would think they would have wiped out the human species considering there weren't any modern day weapons back then to fight back.

@ragerancher I am open minded about the age of the earth as there are numerous clocks that can be used to date it. It is irrelevent to me if the earth is billions of years old. Evolution from simpler to more complex species is NOT testable. Genetic variation IS testable and that is NOT the same thing as evolution. No one disagrees that variations occur but this is rearranging of existing genetic material.

It has been studied for the longest period of time, has the largest body of evidence and is one of the best supported theory in science. Compare that 30 with the tens of thousands of Ph.D.'s with specific degrees in the biological sciences who do. So a small fraction of a percent are nutjobs...

Carbon has a predictable and measurable half life. Carbon decay allows scientists to measure the age of organic and inorganic objects. The theory that the Earth is 6000 years old is demonstrably false.

Evolution from simpler to more complex species is NOT testable. Genetic variation IS testable and that is NOT the same thing as evolution. No one disagrees that variations occur but this is rearranging of existing genetic material.

It has been studied for the longest period of time, has the largest body of evidence and is one of the best supported theory in science. If you say Evolution does not fit your criteria of evidence (and I doubt you even know half the evidence) then none of science will. I love creationism. Imagine how hard it would be to figure out how to avoid certain people without it. When someone tells me Earth is 10,000 years old I immediately know there is no way I can stomach being around such a brainwashed idiot who ignores all the scientific evidence out there.
It's one thing to argue God created everything and maybe retrofit science to that belief. It's a whole other thing to spit in the face of good science to substitute fairy tales. Science and theology can coexist

Physisist Russell Humphries for example. I do not know how old the earth is the idea that there is such overwhelming evidence for an ancient earth is overblown as it is based on a series of assumptioms. Assuming the thing you set out to prove is problematic.

@robertfusion How about looking into the "700". Many on the list were conned and asked to be removed. Many have faux degrees or degrees from diploma mills. Many do not have degrees in the sciences (a Philosophy Ph.D. doesn't count). Let's say that list is knocked down to 30. Those 30 do NO peer reviewed biological research. Compare that 30 with the tens of thousands of Ph.D.'s with specific degrees in the biological sciences who do. So a small fraction of a percent are nutjobs...

If they were, these three make NO effort to publish any research that would in any way support Creationism or ID in any peer reviewed journal. In that case they are academically dishonest and hypocrites. In fact they may have only answered the question deceivingly posed by the Discovery Institute. All scientists are skeptics and that is what the question was leading. We always question. THAT is peer review!

I don't know anything or care about the three guys mentioned, but thought my prior knowledge, would be of some interest, in regards to the subject.

I do have to give props to Ken Ham though for teaching christians how it is and that god did not spark life according to the bible. I hate the pick and choose christians more than the flat earthers because if they didnt pick and choose they would most likely be atheist. Oh and btw, carbon dating isnt even used to date the earth, but if you did use it to do so you are right it would be no where near 6000 years.

I cannot understand how creationism is a 'debate'. In England, people would simply ignore you (or secretly suspect that you were mentally ill) if you supposed this to be the case. In the U.S. however, it seems like a significant issue! The mind boggles.

@dustiny84 And with regards to the numbered posts, very insightful, and you make some excellent points. I find this question to be particularly interesting: what IS real Christianity about? You ask a thousand Christians that question and I suspect you'd get nearly a thousand different answers.
And to answer that first question, yes it has been observed in many ways, and the plain fact is the entire science of biology as it exists today wouldn't be possible without evolution at the core
