  • this gives me the chills every time i watch it...after watching inferno and seeing what happened after one gets physically ripped up, it was disturbing seeing how the soul gets tortured mentally..just the way he says "jesus wept" is creepy ;-( but great movie

  • This reminds me of freakazoid

  • He said it out of script... duh. Watch the documentary. It was ad libbed

  • Fuckin A best part from any movie. ever

  • this aint from the second one smarty

  • @theAdorkablemonkey

    Later, idiot.

  • how did i got here from ponies? HOW!!!

  • I was always curious about why he said that and what this had to do with Jesus until now. But back then I didnt have the internet. Still disturbing . . .

  • This is how i was taught the bible in church. Im very weird now.

  • Fluttershy brought me here.

  • in the script was different u don't see nothing that says 'Jesus Wept' so i guess he just say it to make and impact...so he make a good work

  • in italy this sentence was deleted and changed

  • WTF this is hellraiser 1 not 2!!!!!!!

lol just kidding! part 2 is my fav

  • hahahahahahahahahahahHhahahahahah AHHAHAHAHA NICE ¬¬

  • hes quoting the bible and laughing at jesus because the pain hes going through is worse than what jesus felt and hes laughing about it but jesus wept.

  • @TheMerkzzz

    Google "Jesus Wept"

Jesus was crying because he got to Lazarus too late and was already dead. It has nothing to do with the crucifixion.

  • @reivenlocke Considering Frank is a resurrected man, I suppose the quote is almost appropriate...

  • Jesus got to Lazarus too late? He is the son of god, all he has to do is snap his fingers... hmm...

  • @reivenlocke sorry that was just my own geuss lol

  • @TheMerkzzz There is actually a bit on Wikipedia regarding the phrase, and it does have some relevance to the scene: In some places in the English-speaking world, including the UK, Ireland (particularly Dublin) and Australia, the phrase "Jesus wept" is a common expletive, curse or minced oath spoken when something goes wrong or to express mild incredulity.

  • Was he just trying to be ironic in quoting that verse or was there more meaning too it than that?

  • COOL!

  • There goes the Scorpio Killer.

  • ANGERFIST!!

  • Just two words, yet so effective. Heard that sample in so many songs already.

  • creep shit!

Hellraiser II is by far the best one, i think so. :P

  • Jesus swept the floor? lol

  • One of the most memorable lines of 80s Horror movies. Love me some Hellraiser.

  • "Jesus wept" is the shortest verse in the entire Bible

  • Such a weird thing to say in a situation like his but oh well, its funny as hell (no pun)!

  • @ooFAQoo

    1) Read the damn description. "The beginning of Hellraiser II showed a quick recap of the final moments of the first movie including a more graphic finishing of Frank." (facepalm)

    2) The next person that is too dirt dumb to do it, I'll just erase your comment and block you.

  • @ooFAQoo LOL get rocked.

  • i dont get it... why "Jesus wept" why not something from Revelations or something... something alittle more forboding

  • @nastrael Because it wasn't really about the bible.

    Jesus wept, he laughed.

  • One of the best lines in any horror movie. It's perfect.

  • *tisk* frank cotton so full of himself

(and yes, people suck at google)

  • wait, what?? this is from the first one...

  • @pthizzy12

Basic reading should be a requirement when getting onto YouTube.

    Read the damn description.

  • @reivenlocke oh wow. my bad lol

  • Jesus wept when i was conceived. Known that i would be a piece of shir, no good, convict, back-stabbing , thief. Why am i here? Because Jesus wept.......................

  • @geostillo78 LOL *piece of shit*...or shir....,same fuckin thing.

  • Probably the greatest creepiest horror scene ever. The fact that he laughs at the end is so unsettling.

  • Hold down 5!

  • You know I'll bet when he was a child, he got yelled at for breaking his toys on purpose.

  • You know I'll bet when he was a child, he got yelled at for breaking his toys on purpose.

  • You know I'll bet he got scolded a lot when he was a kid for intentionally destroying or breaking his toys.

  • You know I'll bet he got scolded a lot when he was a kid for intentionally destroying or breaking his toys.

  • You know I'll bet he got scolded a lot when he was a kid for intentionally destroying or breaking his toys.

  • did he died?

  • LOLOLOL

If I was the girl, and that happened, I'd be like do do do

    walks in

    OOPS

    walks out

    :P

  • Oh my god! Is he alright?

  • LMAO KEEP PRESSING 3 xD

  • @TsubasaFires

That is sick, but funny. :D He is licking his lips because the female Cenobyte is so sexy.

  • LOL

  • I want to go around a public area gripping a bible screaming "Jesus wept! Jesus wept! Jesus Wept!"

  • hahaha thats such a twisted line

  • @Musicjoe11

Imagine if he would have quoted Esther 8:9.

  • @reivenlocke Hahahahahahahaha, I don't get it. :3

  • @EyeLiek2Fish

    Google is your friend.

  • @reivenlocke i still dont get it

  • @EyeLiek2Fish i think he means the length of the verse.if thats not it then idk either

  • @reivenlocke "The king’s scribes were summoned at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day. And an edict was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded concerning the Jews, to the satraps and the governors and the officials of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, 127 provinces, to each province in its own script and to each people in its own language, and also to the Jews in their script and their language."

    Wtf?

  • @Wyndrax

Longest verse in the bible as compared to "Jesus Wept" being the shortest. All you had to do was Google the verse to find that out.

  • nice face lift man 0:01

  • That guys fit

  • based on the context of the movie, does anyone else think that this one line has any deeper meaning? or it just sounds cool

  • id hit that

  • scorpio from dirty harry

  • @portadelaide

    And Garak from DS9!

  • Just a horror nerd fact here: He actually made that line up on the spot, as it was not in the original script.

  • @differentstrokes9 ahh handy to know can go in my ammo pouch of other useless film information lol ( heres one from me freddys glove can be seen in the shed in the first evil dead ;p)

  • did he died???

  • he probaly ment jesus left!

  • fuck this movie is sick

  • wtf is hell raiser what is this, i just came here from anther vid i have no idea what is going on, why did i even go onto this if i didnt no what it was ? !!

is he half man half chain ?

  • I hate when that happens.

  • dude you have something on your fa... *RIIIP* uhh never mind

  • Well in the Uk saying Jesus Wept is akin to saying Oh god or Jesus Christ.

  • eeeew

  • still have no idea why he said that or what it meant. still sounds pretty cool.

  • this freaking gave me nightmares about that happenin to me and feeling the pain and still being alive o-o thanks alot u fuck

  • mmmmmm yum

  • Ew fuck :3

  • what is that supposed to mean?

  • someone needs to make a composite cut of hellraiser I with the gore reinstated

  • nice i'm eating cake at the moment :/

  • what he means by "Jesus wept", is that Jesus wept when he was crucified, but he is suffering in a way more painful than crucifixtion and not weeping

  • @Patro695 That's what I got out of it as well!

  • @Patro695 Actually Jesus didn't weep while he was crucified.. "Jesus wept" is from the verse John 11:35 which refers to when Jesus wept over the death of His friend John. So honestly...this scene makes no sense at all.

  • @AtomicStarBurst

    Lazarus, not John. Google it.

  • @reivenlocke No need. You're right. I wasn't intending to start a fight. :)

  • @AtomicStarBurst my mistake. Excuse my ignorance. If that's true, either there is another meaning for that line or your right about the scene not making any sense.

  • jesus........wept

  • lol

  • worst death ever

  • i always wondered how he got awful teeth just for that 5 seconds of the film....

  • "Jesus Wept" - Haunting.

  • O_o

  • and buy more booze =)

  • and die!

  • Jesus should sodomiz..... weeep, of course, weeep...... for his children......

  • Thats how I fuck

  • Excuse me for being a noob, but, was there ever any particular reason why The Cenobites only ever had about 5 minutes screen time in the 93 minute film, Hellraiser, but are still concidered the film's key antagonists?

I was just wondering why they'd show so little of them in the film... :/

  • @JAMES2K2COLD Frank and Julia are the real antagonists. The Cenobites are just the things you remember most because they're so iconic.

  • @angeltosome : True, but I was just wondering why the featured so infrequently if they're on the posters and dvd / vhs covers for the film?

  • @JAMES2K2COLD They're the man behind the curtain. The absolute goal of pain and pleasure that the antagonists don't know thats there goal. They're more prominent in the later films such as Hellseeker which is one of my favorites. But if you wanna mess with your opinion even more, watch Hellworld. They're there for most of the movie... but not really there.

  • Frank may be a pathetic peice of shit that deserves hell, but you can't say the guy didn't go out like a boss.He basically called Jesus a bitch and laughed.

  • No wonder they took that off LOL.

  • what an ugly cunt >.<

  • I believe in ghosts and leprechuan's and unicorn's and jesus and mermaids

  • might be saying that jesus sacrifice wasn't worth because humans are so corrupt

  • You know what's ironic? This guy's name is Frank, right? Suffocation made a song named Jesus Wept and the singer's name was Frank. lolwtf?

  • YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!

  • why cant we ever see a woman get ripped apart similar to this, its always the guys.. and i have seen all the hellraisers..

  • I watched this one on cable but was not as graphic, the fuckers must've shown the a censored version.

  • very cheap, if you pause the video you see the head was splittet at the beginning of the ripp

  • ? i don't get it ?

  • I'm willing to bet good money Frank would have rather had Harry Callihan stepping on his leg at that moment rather than what the Cenobites had in mind.

  • Freaky! I kind of thought he was using that line because it makes Jesus seem more human and therefore not powerful, like he's mocking Jesus.

  • no idea why they felt it was too much and had to cut it on the first film yet it's completly fine to show it in the sequel. heh. i hate censors.

  • @somethinglacking1 actually the film was dangerously close to getting an X rateing i belive but it had to be cut by around 20 seconds to make an R rateing so they couldnt add that to the first one

  • Pflaster drauf und gut ist ^^

  • Wow, way to be. Ya cut out right as it gets good.

  • Comment removed

  • great movies especially 1-3

  • This is Hellraiser 1 not 2

  • @outrightronnie

    Read the description.

  • @outrightronnie its the beginning of part II

  • @outrightronnie This is also a scene in two at the end.

  • Give Frank a band aid and tell him to quit being a baby. Tis just a flesh wound.

  • So he's making fun of Jesus because Jesus was weeping over Lazarus' death but he is all strung out on these chains and he's not weeping?

  • @TheSpazzarro Jesus wept over the death of his friend Lazarus, not the physical torture he endured for most of a day, only the last half of which was on the cross. The peak of his anguish was when his father could not bear to look at him taking on the sins of the world, not the cross, thorns, whipping, punching, or ripping out of his beard. His tears were always emotional, over the deeper eternal loss. He did not cry over the destruction of his flesh, but for the souls of others.

  • Why does no one thing that he could be refering to jesus because he was BETRAYED like jesus?

  • @pikez17 Because then the quote would make even less sense. Jesus didn't weep over betrayal or the long hours of torture.

  • :o shit. what are they doing to him in there? anyone wanna tell me?

  • And that Billy, Is why women stay in the kitchen.....

  • Awesome, and good quality too. mucho appreciated !!!!

  • I rather die instantly then being tortured,,horrible....

  • IMO, when Frank says "Jesus wept", I think he was comparing himself to Christ. One of the more brutal styles of Crucifixions practiced by both the Greeks and even the Japanese durring the Shimabara Rebellion, Jesus was crucified. Long and painful - knowing before hand of his fate. Frank is comparing himself to Jesus in that with Frank's pain (more brutal than Jesus' it seems), he is not giving into crying, weeping, or anything. Making himself look more - in vein - "Macho". IMO

  • Oh why kill Gilbert Godfrey?! hahahahahaha!!

  • holy fucking shit

  • THE F#@KING "UP NEXT" SCREEN COMES UP WHEN HIS BODY GETS TORN TO SHREADS! GRRRRR!

  • Of course, a crucifixion is like a back massage in the Cenobite dimension or hell.

  • @MasterAdam100

"Jesus Wept" has nothing to do with the crucifixion.

  • @reivenlocke Yeah but I was just saying it.

  • @reivenlocke yes, read John chapter 11. Jesus wept (John 11:35) at the suffering of Mary of Bethany because her brother lazarus died.

  • @reivenlocke yes, in John chapter 11. Jesus wept (John 11:35) at the suffering of Mary of Bethany because her brother lazarus died. From Frank's point of view, g2kmaster is probably right. I don't imagine Frank is a bible scholar.

  • @reivenlocke Yes, it has everything to do with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He's saying that Jesus wept from the pain he went through, and his pain is worse yet he doesn't weep.

  • @elitesmg

Seriously....do some research. Just Google "Jesus Wept". It isn't that hard. Jesus wasn't in any pain when he was crying about the death of Lazarus whom he soon resurrected, which the verse is attributed to.

  • @reivenlocke "Jesus wept, not for Lazarus as some suppose, but rather, he wept because Mary, Martha and the others wept. Jesus wept, because he felt the pain and sorrow of those whom he loved." I did the research.

  • I love the picture @ 0:13 HA HA...He's having a good time

  • "Jesus wept" is exactly what I say just before I force out the worst stinking mega-shit in my iife..

  • @PIlotrcm LMFAO you sir made my day

  • You have to admit, that was pretty fucking gay.

  • wtf

  • @BeyondBlizziC

Erased and blocked. This isn't going to turn into Christians vs. Atheists. Take that to a religious video.

  • i remember seeing this when i was a kid and that jesus wept line stuck with me...

  • ewwwwwwwww

  • fucked up scene

  • So what he says that? I am sure that being torn to shreds by hooks hurts a lot more than to die from exhaustion and thirst (Jesus..if he ever existed...wasn't nailed to a cross and didn't die from bloodloss or something...he died from being exposed to the elements and thirst..his heart probably gave up) And...this is a HORROR movie...come on..stop reading all kinds of religious thing in the scenes

  • this scene always sends chills down my spine

  • In response to some of the comments to this video: Clive Barker has stated in interviews that he is a Christian, so I doubt very much that whatever his intentions were, they were not meant as blasphemous. Remember, Uncle Frank is a Faustian anti-hero/villain after all, not a role model. ;)

  • What really bothers me is you see other religions made fun of all the time but if it's Christianity everyone flips out. :\

I'm a christian too, I just find it kind of hypocritical. Other people should be able to believe in what they want too. It's not really making fun of it either, it's a horror movie. And the title of it is Hellraiser. what would you expect in it? xD It's kind of self explanatory.

  • @YuushaKaiser Not really where I'm from. Christians are mocked constantly in todays media, but GOD Forbid someone cracks a muslim joke e__e

Btw Im christian and trust me I can care less if my beliefs are mocked. I just try not to let it get to me.

  • @MadaraXIII

I've always noticed it go both ways. I guess it would vary from different things in the media, or from people you just know.
