Just picked up a Akai for 12 pounds in a cashcovertors :) perfect condition!! can't complain about that. As for the Korg keyboard, ive looked at one of those, it looks cool but afraid the keys SUCK!!!! the Akai gives you something proper where the nano is like?? lost the plot abit
PEOPLE do not buy any of them to their both shit, look into the korg micro key its great, 3 octaves as well as mod wheel and pitch bend wheel. vote up
My KorgNanoKey arrived in the mail today, i can tell you i wish id bought the akai, playing notes on the NanoKey seems to be way more difficult than necesary. i find myself pressing quite hard because the velocity sensetivity isnt as sensetive as id hoped. along with that irritating clicking noise -__-, sending this piece of crap back and ordering the Akai
One thing very cool in the akay, is that it detects how hard u press the keys as a real piano keyboard, and the note plays harder or soft. Of course, u need software that can detects that pressure, I use Garage Band and works fine.
I have a macbook running Logic Pro 9 and the Akai is probably the perfect companion, a bit bored of using the computer keyboard to input midi date so I've decided to order one today. Great comparison video! :)
Huh .this keyboard are both s...s in my opinion. At least they should be dinamic .And they are too tiny for babies too.I admire those who can play on these things.I just opressed my opinion. My laptop has better touch keys
i just ordered my nano set all three did i get the right one for ableton and as a starter kit ... my laptop is the nv7923 so they should work fine i guess
I´m purchace a NanoKey and verry disapointed. My A4Tech Keyboard Slin (IP Talk) model keys is more sweet to press then nanokey keys. I will just use for dispare samplers and make any automations. It´s imposible to play a melody confortable.
I own the black nanoKey, i haven´t tried the LPK25, but i´ve managed to record a few things here and there quite comfortably with my Korg. By the looks on this video, the nanoKey seems more portable, but i guess i can´t really tell ´till i try the AKAI.
What´s that song in the video? Sounds really cool... Great video BTW. :-)
@MikeeDustBunny I have them both. They are both good. I just feel more comfortable with the AKAI. The button responses are the some until you start doing things in different velocities.
The Akai isn't very comfortable either. It feels very squishy, and unlike keyboards and pianos, there's no real discernable point where the note registers. The keys just squish in.
The Korg looks more comfortable to me, but the velocity sensitiviity is probably better on the Akai.
NAno keys is shit and a waste of money I brought it for traveling and 2 weeks later the pieces started getting loose and snapping off plus it felt worse than tapping in my querty keyboard on the brightside its..............thin
I own a black nanokey but I'm selling it to buy an LPK 25..! this is beacause I actually cannot really play on the nanokey and because it feels as if the keys are going to snap if you use them too much..! I'm a great fan of Korg but the nanoKEY was a HUGE disappointment..
Actually, after using the nanokey for a day it doesn't seem as bad as it did in the beginning. I think I had so much fun making sounds I stopped noticing nanokey's crapiness :)
So, the nanokey is definitely usable if you can overcome the initial shock. I'm still getting the akai though..
Brilliant, this comparison is just what I needed. I've received my nanokey this morning and I'm not impressed at all. Sure, it's nice, thin and superlight, but I'm already annoyed with the key action (or lack of it) and the clickety-clicking keys and I've only been using it for 10 minutes. It's going back on ebay today + I'm getting the Akai. Nanopad and Nanokontrol are great, but this is just a piece of c**p. Sorry Korg.
It does. It's almost like a normal size midi controller keyboard, while the kord is more like a laptop keyboard, not comfortable and with a "click" rather than a normal key action. Definitely the akai.
thnx

if you want arpeggiator, go with Akai, if you want pitch bend, go with Nano
Luckzzz 1 year ago
@Luckzzz for someone who practices on creating melody riffs for soloing on the go, I'd agree the Nano would be better since it has pitch bend.
