  • will the pinnacle PVT work with a ipod classic 20 GB

  • @brandon14872,

How do you want it to work with the iPod?

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • @gadgettts The way i want it to work with the iPod is to save TV or video on the iPod

  • @brandon14872,

The PVT saves in H.264, so it will create a file that can be used on all new Apple products. Though I'm not sure if the classic is compatible.

  • Can i record HD Videos from it too. Because i have this device and i have HD-TV too, but i cant see any port of HD cable. If its possible let me know please.

    Thanks!

  • awesome review man, definitely answered alot of my questions.

  • i'd like to record on x-box 360 and on my computer playing world of warcraft is this the device for me?

  • Yes, plus movies you have that never made dvd or out of print can be transfered from tv or vcr. I like it because its small.i know it can record games but How is Customer Service for the product?

  • I forgot to mention I record satellite TV.

    thanks

  • I need your help please?

when I record with my pinnacle PVT for the first 12 hours of recording the audio of the file is good but after 12 hours of recording the audio goes bad and out of sync I use a 16 GB flash drive I record for 24 hours with best quality it automatically makes another file to record after 5 hours and 50 minutes so the two first files are good but after the 2nd file the audio goes bad and also out of sync. Do you know how to fix this problem?

Thax waiting 4 your answer !

  • For some reason when i plug this into my my computer with a usb it sais it is unknown.Any suggestions.

  • crazyballplayer13,

I would suggest that you first download and install the drivers for the USB-710 device from the Pinnacle web site. Then plug in the Pinnacle.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Rober

  • does this record in 16:9

  • do you need to plug this into the tv to? i dont have a video output and it sucks!

    please help me

  • It doesn't plug into the TV. It has a RCA input and records on a USB drive.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • This is a well done video but i was wondering how would you hook it up to a PlayStation 3?

  • DarkNightj0ker,

You would have to use the composite RCA inputs.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • dude can yu still hook it to Surrond Sound and your PS3?

  • i want one (is there anything like tht in HDMI??

  • its all about Judas bro!

  • can i use it with a laptop with windows xp?

  • Yes.--- It's just a quicktime file, so ANY OS that recognizes H.264 will work just fine.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • does anyone know a Gadget that can record in HD thats not over £1000. cheers

  • xXIVENDETAIXxVIDS,

    Fr. Robert

  • i cant get mine to record i put mi flash drive 4g and hooked one end of the yelloe red white into mi tv and the other end to pinacle transfer box and i still cant gget it to work to i have to have the s vid

  • does anybody know why when i safe a movie directly into my ipod and then i plug it to my tv and to play it through my tv the volume is low

  • Thank you, that was very informative. I just got this in the mail yesterday and used it for the first time today. It was extremely easy to use and produced fantastic results- I recorded a clip from an old VHS tape onto a 4gig Kensington flash drive, transferred to the PC and had it uploaded to youtube within the hour. This is perfect for people who don't want to mess with conversion software and just want to get the job done.

  • megtop412,

Thanks for the report. It's always nice to hear from somebody who has their own real-world experience of the gadgets that we review. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • This would be an amazing piece of technology if I could get it to work properly. I have an 8Gb Merlin portable USB hard drive (FAT 32) with files on it but about 3Gb free space. The maximum I have been able to transfer without a file size of 0Kb is 2 mins of video, about 20Mb of the transfer. Any more than 2 mins then the file I get is 0Kb. This is driving me crazy as I have to wait until the end of a 2Hr video transfer to see that I have zero data. Can you help.

  • HereIamReddyorNot,

It could be that the USB drive isn't fast enough and the device is crapping out after its internal buffer is filled. Have you seen the same problem at all the different resolution sizes? Have you tried different USB storage devices?

  • i have heard that u cant record in HD. is this true? im asking one of these for christmas, and my xbox 360 is hooked up to my HD tv. couldnt i just keep the HD component cables for the xbox still plugged in and but take out the red yellow and white and put them up to the splitters? because i really dont want to have to take my xbox out of the family room (where the hd tv is) and put in my room everytime i want to record. thanks

  • No HD... sorry.. There are no inputs for a HD device, either component or HDMI. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • I'm pretty sure something similar was answered in the video, but would a WD 160GB External Hard drive "My Book" be used as the storage device?

I have a Flashdrive, but it's hardly large enough to hold a good amount of video. If I'm able to go without purchasing a new one that would be great.

  • External USB hard drives will work just fine. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • Thanks a lot guys, thanks to your review i bought this and i am more than satisfied.Quality is great and it is easy to use.If any one wants to see what the vids look like just look on my profile.

  • OMG Thank you so much i didnt know what to do until i saw this

  • How could I connect an RF cable to the PVT?

  • It doesn't have a RF input. You would have to use an external RF to analog video tuner.

  • HOLY SHIT

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP W/ THE HANAMA BAY PART,

i just got bak from hawaii and when i was there i saw that wind and solar energy powered streetlight and was amazed and i took a picture, thats sick! XD

  • Can I still record the content using a mac?

  • I think you can.

  • Great review. I have a PVT and I used it four times with no problems. The fifth time I tried to use it, I ran into problems. I do believe it is corrupted firmware.

Otherwise it's OK and does what it advertises.

  • good review, thnx.

    i'm gonna order this tomorrow

  • Have Pinnacle Rave tuner - had some tuners before-but that one is just amazing - so i gues that newer stuff is ivn bather.

    G review btw.

  • Dear magicpuba123,

STOP TYPING THE SAME GOD DAMM MESSAGE ON ALMOST EVERY AWESOME VIDEO!!!

  • it says it can only work with a "so and so" flash/jump drive... can anyone give me a link to the right kind of drive from like radioshack or something so i dont buy the rong one plz. thanks.

  • First, I gotta say that BioShock was incredibly awesome. Second, I only see one input for video. How can you record, say a console game, and know what the hell you're doing? There's only one input so you can only choose a monitor or to record to the device. How does that work?

Or did you put the RCA video cable into the TV and use the S-Video to record or vice-versa? I always have questions, I know. Ha ha.

Pinnacle seems to be making a lot of useful stuff.

  • SSS,

I just use a Y-Splitter. I bought a pack of three from monoprice for about $2.00 and they work just fine. There is no passthrough, so that could limit its usefulness in certain applications, but I still found it to be an awesomely cool device!

BTW... Yes... Pinnacle is making some very userfull gear. Thankfully they are very good about letting us play with their stuff... it's been a Pinnacle picnic over here!

  • Yeah, I thought is would be something like that. I saw something like that at RadioShack when I was picking up some attachments for my PC Surround and attach it to my TV. I was wondering if you could review a couple PC surround sound systems? I'm in the market for a new one and not one reviews it. Newegg reviews I don't trust.

Quick question - when I connected my PC surround sound to my TV, the rear speakers don't work. Do the back speakers go though the red or white cable? Or something else?

  • Which would work better, a Pinnacle Dazzle, or PVT?

  • do you guys even watch the video, he said it can be charged via usb and he stated the price.

  • Nice.

  • you know you can make longer videos with that right?

  • good job!

    5/5

  • thank-you keep up the good job, u are buy far my best sub, please keep going, even my dad now watchs the show,

  • I might get it but the experiences ive had with pinnacle are not good. They do have some good products but like with the dazzle it came with a cd that didn't work with Vista...

  • lol but thanks for the information on this stuff great job and keep it up!!!(hope you guys win)!!

  • That's really cool lol.

  • That's really cool lol.

  • I would buy it if it was on batteries. I'm really tierd of wires!

  • What is the price...or did you say?

  • he said 130
