Nuke the place, it's a dirty stinking grey ugly hole. Quite a lot of large towns and cities are like that as other people have said, however you can normally find some sort of character from the people etc. In Merthyr you find a shit load of "stupid". You can see it was very much a place of industrialised Britain. A place of the "worker" etc, however those times have long gone. The people haven't though. I think it's had a real bum deal from the government in terms of investment and attention.

people have always said Merthyr as no work bt what people realis is that this isnt the 80s anymore where all you had was hoovers to work if you had no gcse's or skills look at all the work here now buisneses everywhere the only reason why unemployment is so high is because 85% of Merthyr is council estates where lets face it people just dont want to work full stop! when you ask them all why your not working they say "recession see Butt no jobs innit you know like mun credit crunch" lazy scum
Merthyr is a great place ok it has its rough parts but so does any city and town great history merthyr as better history than Cardiff! so called capital of Wales who lets face it have no history unless you call Bute Street that was known for prostitution and the docks which were only a succes due to all the iron coming down from MERTHYR to export worldwide so like me many people have more respect for Merthyr than Cardiff who lets face it these days have more english people down there than Welsh
I'm a "merthyrian", and I quite enjoyed this video :) I also like the song choice, another great Marmalade song is "I See The Rain" - as I type this, song seems rather appropriate for Merthyr today :P Guy from Marmalade sounds like the vocalist from Moby Grape in some parts O_o

A lovely town and lovely people,steeped in history,i understand that it was once recognised throughout the world as the Capital of Wales when the iron industry was booming here.
Beautiful surrounding countryside,and a visit to the Cyfarthfa castle and museum just outside the main town is well worth a visit with free admission
