I hear that a lot, and while i think the glittering in sunlight is a joke, i want to point out that if you go back to Dracula, you see that even in the most iconic vampire book, it is stated that contrary to popular belief, Vampires CAN walk around by day. Daywalking vampires are not unique to Twilight. They were there long before Stephanie Meyers's grandmother was even born.

Most of what Bella does is just drool over Edward because he's handsome, which strips the love of any real depth or meaning, and Edward basically stalks Bella night and day, before declaring his very newfound (he also didn't have any time whatsoever to get to know Bella better) love. In short, it's a badly-written and misguided 'love' story.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate Not about the glitter argument, but the "Vampires burn in sunlight" one. I hear that a lot, and while i think the glittering in sunlight is a joke, i want to point out that if you go back to Dracula, you see that even in the most iconic vampire book, it is stated that contrary to popular belief, Vampires CAN walk around by day. Daywalking vampires are not unique to Twilight. They were there long before Stephanie Meyers's grandmother was even born.

@melar54 Maybe you're right and you her vampires are a unique and appealing find, but I still think that the 'romance' part is highly overrated. Most of what Bella does is just drool over Edward because he's handsome, which strips the love of any real depth or meaning, and Edward basically stalks Bella night and day, before declaring his very newfound (he also didn't have any time whatsoever to get to know Bella better) love. In short, it's a badly-written and misguided 'love' story.

Yes he's handsome and she has a right to drool but he's so much more than that; the love that he has for her is so strong and so "unreal" that it would have to take an immortal being to love her the way he did and that's what captivates viewers. You can't judge something you know nothing about, especially romance!
