Hi you did well getting the rhythm, but what was missing was feelings, a little bit of intonation and speed at the front needs to be slower, other than that, it's great XD good job...

I think the first part is wayyy too fast. It's supposed to be andante and cantabille. It lost the singing tone. The second part is waayyy too slow.  It's supposed to be allegro, contrast with the first part and it has a really strong rhythm. Nice try, just reverse the tempo of part A and B. Might want to work on the rhythm on part B. Minor note errors on the B section. Have you heard interpretation of Fragmen by Levi Gunardi, posted by nuyokbro? You have to check it out.

Yeah, after listening to other people play this song, I see that the first part is suppose to be slower, while the 2nd part is faster. But I learned this song from my Indonesian instructor, and she told me to play the first part more freely with more feeling, and she said I didn't have to try make the 2nd part too fast. I dunno if she was just telling me that so i'll be decent for my recital. Thanks tho for your critiques. But I just wanted to say that's how my teacher taught me the song.

Yes, the first part is supposed to be played freely and with feelings. Freely doesn't mean fast, you could still play freely, which means think of phrase instead of note by note. As for the second part you don't have to play super fast but not too slow either as not to lose the "gendang" feel. Rather than tempo, the more important is the contrast between calm A & strong rhythm B. I, too, had an Indonesian teacher, & had played this piece, so that's why I can write this constructive critique

Thanks! And I actually don't have the sheet music on my computer... i just have it on paper form. =/ I wish I could trade with you tho. Maybe i can try scan it, but I dunno how long that will be before I can, but I'll let you know if i do!
