does anyone ever imagine the types of music Pink Floyd could have created in the past 30 odd years if Waters didnt pull out of the band ? I always think about it.. Gilmore and Waters are geniuses on their own but put them together and fuck me dead they are just pure fucking brilliant. If I could meet anyone famous before I die it would be those amazing Musicians. yeeeeeeeoooow!
I don;t blame him for not liking noisy stadium goers... I mean, think about it: they have spent their LIFE honing the Pink Floyd live show to the beautiful thing it was - and to have someone who is out of the vibe screaming just ruins it for those sitting/standing around the screamer.
@lastdaysguitar You're right. This happened to us; six in our party seated for the "Momentary Lapse of Reason"show at the sold-out 80,000 seat Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia in late eighties some young fool about 17-18 yrs. old starts puking his guts up at his seat, smelling up the whole section. We had security remove him before his ass got kicked. If people would just go to shows and LISTEN to the music and shut the hell up, it makes it all the more worthwhile.
@scubarulz Agreed, I went to the last Who concert in Minnesota and the girl next to us would not shut up, ruined half the show until she slipped that she didn't actually have tickets to be up front. THANK YOU USHERS!

There are the two pages. The one you found, and the one just called "Roger Waters" (community page)
That part about the end about Dave wanting Roger to do the Phil Spector song and how Roger reacted, sounds so much like how good friends or family are with each other! That just proves to me how well Roger and Dave *do* know each other that they did that little thing. I think it's pretty cool! Their friendship may fire back up yet. :)
When I saw the Wall here in NY last year...I fought back tears... it was not only because the music brings me back to my happiest days as a child... BUT because the STORY of THE WALL is epic in message. THE CORPRATOCRACY HAS PUT A WALL BETWEEN US ALL...MEGA CORPORATIONS OWNED BY THE BANKSTERS CONTROL THE POLITICIANS AND FUEL THE WARS.
Roger got more screwed by Dave and the rest of the band. After all.. most of the music was written by Waters yet Gilmour went on with the band name and remaining members. They were all hugely tallented though!
It sounds like Roger and Dave are clearing the air a bit between them, finally making peace. I hope that's the case. They probably are realizing that they aren't getting any younger, and the differences they had are 30 years old. :-)
great interview. Glad to hear that Rog is over his acrimony and frustration with Pink Floyd's last incarnation. I have watched the video of Gilmour performing with Waters on the tour and it's superb.
@bornbroken7 I realize that. However, the pictures and videos that go on during the new show leave less room for interpretation considering they portray an in-your-face anti-war theme. I just choose to interpret the album as an internal struggle rather than some kind of political statement because nothing turns me off (in the musical sense) more than an obvious political message. If I'm listening to music, I just want to enjoy the music.
@bornbroken7 I really couldn't care less about what the artists' opinions are regarding the way society should be. "Fuck the pooolice!" --"Stop right there! I don't give a shit what you think about the police, Flavor Flav. I happen to respect their services, yet I kind of dislike their enforcement of traffic laws." The moment some kind of political message gets put into a song, or a song gets interpreted as a political message, people start to argue. For me, music transcends that silly crap.
@ticktocktimers. Yes he is releasing a dvd of one of the London shows. This probably won't be real soon but its gong to happen. Also throwing more US dates on next year. Cities he didn't hit last time and some baseball stadiums.
in my opinion the reason theres less politics in todays music is because there are less causes in the world today. We have environmental problems and a couple of middle eastern wars, but pink floyd and all other 60s-70s-80s bands (Lennon, sex pistols ect) were in the middle of a worldwide cold war, as well as a few others more serious then todays wars and political problems, and the music shows it
I always thought Waters was a meglomaniac, but he's mellowed in his older years. Too bad he came around a few years too late. Floyd was better with him in it.
Roger Waters is one of the Worlds Great Humanitarian Geniuses, who is now touring the World with this amazing "Wake-Up!" call for Everyone to understand what is "Stealthily" being orchestrated all over the World by a group of absolute Psychotic Parasitic individuals! but; I wonder, just how many millions of his fans actually understand what "The Wall" is truly all about? Everyone should look at: wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com and understand WHO the Parasites are who are building these WALLS!
I was actually moved upon hearing 'Outside the Wall' for the first time, so Roger has moved me even before I've seen his show! Btw, I'll be seeing it in Melbourne, Australia in February and it's so exciting!!!
A few hours ago I received an e mail from Rogerwaters page com saying that I´ve been selected for the exclusive pre sale for the tickets of the world record show that Roger will give in Argentina march 2012 (7 River Plate stadiums ) anyways... I just can´t believe it. I´ve got my tickets !!!! I saw Roger live in 2002 and now, 10 years later I´ll see him again...I just can´t believe it.
Roger has not been nowhere successful since departing Pink Floyd. Roger had to resort back to Pink Floyd Dark Side and The Wall to sell out arena's. I like Roger as a producer than as a artist.
I saw this show in cleveland! I really hope he puts it out on dvd, because you really cant put into words. If you were not there, you really missed out. It would be very hard to pull of another production half as good as roger was
I always thought most of the message of the wall was about Syd. Neat to find out the songs lyrics are about Roger. The Wall is an incredible album. This interview is very insightful. Pink Floyd as a band were in their prime in the 70's. They put out some remarkable albums with messages about topics that are still relevant today, and fans can still relate to them.
@Wasserziege I agree and yet it typically works the opposite way. Case and point Dave Gilmour as jimmyzo3o suggested. :-) My gf thinks Gilmour was incredibly hot back in the Dark Side of the Moon era and I have no problem admitting that he was a good looking bloke. He's a little bloated up these days. But hey, we all age the way we age right? :-) All I really care about is the incredible body of sublime music they have given us over the years.
The WORLD" must come together and finally "Wake-Up!"and understand WHO it is who are deceivingly building all these destructive "WALLS!" around the world today.
wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com to understand what is happening in our world today.
I saw the show in 1980 in Dortmund and later on that year in London/ Earls Court .And ever since my son was born I have said to him that should the show ever go on the road again , we would go . We have now seen what we both consider the best f.... show on earth in Copenhagen and a week later in London because just seeing it once doesn't do it . Havejust las tweek bought tickets for the show in Athens. Don't you miss it . Can now officially die and go to heaven . OH .... have just been there .
@gardenofarcane What do you think,or price would he pay for his arrogance for all these years? All the bullshit he pulled to stop Pink Floyd from playing and all the ignorance he displayed for years!!!! Now saying that.... Pink Floyd is not Pink Floyd without Roger Waters!!! A Genious.!!!!! But all that wasteful, egotistic bickering that spanned decades is sad!!! I seen an interview and you could just sense his regret. Now Rick Wright has left us makes it so sad. Life is so short!!!!!!!
@antond139 It's really easy now for him to preach all this love and equality, asshole kicked out Rick, fought with everyone, took his old friends to court for using the name "pink Floyd, now guilt chewing up his old ass, he is out here trying to preach love what a hypocrite!
@gardenofarcane he didnt kick Rick out of the band at all they all did they all voted him out cause he didnt want to stick with their new recording schedule i believe he told Roger to fuck off so they voted him out and were nice enough to give him a job on the tour so get the facts right it wasnt just Roger Dave and Nick played a big part in it too
@MrDannyboyhall Thats right! read Nick Mason's Inside Out and get your facts right!!! Rick was kicked out by Rogers on phone, He said when I get back in US where they mixing the Wall Rick shouldnt be there or he'll scrap the whole project, This guy is and always has been an ASSHOLE!
@gardenofarcane thats funny as both Roger and David have admitted this in interviews and also in a book of floyds i have also both have said that you cant believe what Nick wrote as his memory of the way things went wasnt exactly that clear or consistent
@gardenofarcane and yes it did all happen over the phone while on their way to the US they were on the plane when Roger and David called him and said that the new schedule was going to cut short their vacation time thats when Rick said to David tell Roger to go fuck himself its also common knowledge that Rick was not working properly and was suffering with depression at the time hence slowing down the production time of the album
@gardenofarcane Roger was and is a selfcentered lil asshole. The mere fact that Gilmore, mason, and Wright (rip) toured allot after that period STILL.
Proofs what kind of asshole he is , he is a brilliant lyrical writer. Roger is simply brilliant on that area, but as a guitarist he was ALWAYS behind on gilmour. And not to be over rude here, he SUCKS as a vocal singer too.
@gardenofarcane So you think that someone isn't allowed to be sorry for things they regret? Ten to one you'd be complaining if he was still like he was then, he can't win! He has made apologies for all of that live on stage, it takes a big person to admit that they were wrong, and he'd done it in front of thousands, so don't you dare go criticising someone for becoming a better person!
@Pudabudigada He Apologized for spiriting on a fans face not for becoming an asshole for half a century, it's all too convenient isnt it? fuck with everyone say whatever you want to say and then you said SORRY! this guy took his band mates of 20 yrs to court for using the name "Pink Floyd" and he is teaching us how live our live our life now! It's typical of people who want everything.
You do not fully get were the differences were/are between HIM and the rest. Roger never started Pink floyd to be a great musician. He became what he became to get world fame, and he did i admit that much. But it also made him a asshole because of CHOICE.
You could known that if you, saw the Meddle (echoes, made the floyd as we know it now) docu...
@Secondlifecreator To which I'm inclined to respond; So what? He's different now, and it's the here and now that matters. What he used to be like is immaterial, say one of your friends used to be a vicious racist, but now works on a racism helpline, would you still hate that person? I think not.
Got nothing to do with hate thats the narrow minded mistake you just make. I do believe in second chances but not AFTER 20 YEARS! Then you just a tat to late to "change", And i would not friend a racist to begin with, so the whole hypothesis is wrong your handing to me. That you a forgiven person that is great, but if you busted my nuts (like roger did for over 20 years) then you can simply get lost.
@Secondlifecreator My point was that if you discovered that one of your friends used to be a bedfellow of Nick Griffin but now isn't, you wouldn't dump them, would you? Of course if it was the other way around I would expect that you would dump them, which would seem to be at odds with what seems to be your philosophy on this. You should try to apply rationality to how you view other people. There are stories of mass murderers leaving prison to work for charities, are they still evil?
@bigals1000 you would be a very very lucky person if it was the 12th. that's when gilmour plays the comfortably numbs solo :) i bet you a million pounds, dollars, kronors.. you name it!
@disposablereligion I will try when am down to get a ticket for the 12th to i have already 2 tickets for manchester to ,how do you know that gilmour is there on the 12th ?????????
@bigals1000 i've promised the person that i can't tell. i shouldn't even have told this but meh. gilmour's gonna come and see the show on the first date in london O2 - today.. and then tomorrow (12th may), he's just gonna come.. play the comfortably numb solo and leave. yup.. only the comfortably numb solo. if you can, do go on the 12th. you REALLY won't regret it :)
@disposablereligion You wont believe me buddy my ticket came today and guess what its for the 12th fucking buzzing already wish it was 7am to get on the train
@disposablereligion Just home buddy you were correct he did play awesome night and you wont believe it there another 2 tickets for the 17th here for me
Now that's a great interview by a great interviewer and a majestic musician! I'm so glad I had the chance to see Mr Waters doing what he does best. Great man!
in three weeks i plan to make my way down the m1 from junction 32. i know where iam headed and i know how iam getting there just not sure what will become of me.
The concert was absolutely astonishing! i wish i get the opportunity to go to another one of Roger Water's shows! he is very right when he says that you have to watch the concert more than once to be able to grasp the whole concert! it was sublime!
lucky you!!!!! im so far away from the wall!!!! i ca imagine when gilmour sing comfortably numb in the top of the wall that will be the best moment of 2011....

Hi Roger!!
ubelieveinme2oo 6 months ago

Roger is one of very few guys who looks better the older he gets. Went from weird looking to normal looking. :-)

@Nigelxman True, too bad Dave Gilmour's gone the opposite way.

@Nigelxman- Exactly. He had to grow into his features.
rozwyatt 4 months ago
@Nigelxman thats probably because he wasn't that handsome in his earlier years...
Wasserziege 4 months ago
@Wasserziege I agree and yet it typically works the opposite way. Case and point Dave Gilmour as jimmyzo3o suggested. :-) My gf thinks Gilmour was incredibly hot back in the Dark Side of the Moon era and I have no problem admitting that he was a good looking bloke. He's a little bloated up these days. But hey, we all age the way we age right? :-) All I really care about is the incredible body of sublime music they have given us over the years.

@joesgarage333soton What do you expect? Roger has been a pain in the ass for eternity! now he is old fool!
gardenofarcane 9 months ago
@gardenofarcane What do you think,or price would he pay for his arrogance for all these years? All the bullshit he pulled to stop Pink Floyd from playing and all the ignorance he displayed for years!!!! Now saying that.... Pink Floyd is not Pink Floyd without Roger Waters!!! A Genious.!!!!! But all that wasteful, egotistic bickering that spanned decades is sad!!! I seen an interview and you could just sense his regret. Now Rick Wright has left us makes it so sad. Life is so short!!!!!!!
antond139 9 months ago
@antond139 It's really easy now for him to preach all this love and equality, asshole kicked out Rick, fought with everyone, took his old friends to court for using the name "pink Floyd, now guilt chewing up his old ass, he is out here trying to preach love what a hypocrite!
gardenofarcane 9 months ago
@gardenofarcane he didnt kick Rick out of the band at all they all did they all voted him out cause he didnt want to stick with their new recording schedule i believe he told Roger to fuck off so they voted him out and were nice enough to give him a job on the tour so get the facts right it wasnt just Roger Dave and Nick played a big part in it too
MrDannyboyhall 8 months ago
@MrDannyboyhall Thats right! read Nick Mason's Inside Out and get your facts right!!! Rick was kicked out by Rogers on phone, He said when I get back in US where they mixing the Wall Rick shouldnt be there or he'll scrap the whole project, This guy is and always has been an ASSHOLE!
gardenofarcane 8 months ago
@gardenofarcane thats funny as both Roger and David have admitted this in interviews and also in a book of floyds i have also both have said that you cant believe what Nick wrote as his memory of the way things went wasnt exactly that clear or consistent
MrDannyboyhall 8 months ago
@gardenofarcane and yes it did all happen over the phone while on their way to the US they were on the plane when Roger and David called him and said that the new schedule was going to cut short their vacation time thats when Rick said to David tell Roger to go fuck himself its also common knowledge that Rick was not working properly and was suffering with depression at the time hence slowing down the production time of the album
MrDannyboyhall 8 months ago

Pudabudigada 8 months ago
@Pudabudigada He Apologized for spiriting on a fans face not for becoming an asshole for half a century, it's all too convenient isnt it? fuck with everyone say whatever you want to say and then you said SORRY! this guy took his band mates of 20 yrs to court for using the name "Pink Floyd" and he is teaching us how live our live our life now! It's typical of people who want everything.
gardenofarcane 7 months ago
@Pudabudigada
Secondlifecreator 7 months ago
@Secondlifecreator To which I'm inclined to respond; So what? He's different now, and it's the here and now that matters. What he used to be like is immaterial, say one of your friends used to be a vicious racist, but now works on a racism helpline, would you still hate that person? I think not.
Pudabudigada 7 months ago
@Pudabudigada
Easier then this is cannot word it.
Secondlifecreator 7 months ago
@Secondlifecreator My point was that if you discovered that one of your friends used to be a bedfellow of Nick Griffin but now isn't, you wouldn't dump them, would you? Of course if it was the other way around I would expect that you would dump them, which would seem to be at odds with what seems to be your philosophy on this. You should try to apply rationality to how you view other people. There are stories of mass murderers leaving prison to work for charities, are they still evil?
