Thanks for sending me the unedited version. I don't know if the President is right or wrong but I do know this is biased journalism. It seems to me MSNBC is trying to tell me what to think. Also, I want to be a cameraman some day, maybe tv, movies, or photojournalism, idk. But, it seems to me this is an example of how not to film an interview of an important person. It looks like the cameraman made it so the interview could be edited to make the president look dumb.
Returning troops?! My friend is departing to Iraq in July '08 and not returning till Jan. '09 and he's in the Airforce which recently was turned into the Army b/c they are in need of many more troops!
Thats a sad true fact but its even more sad that he knows how to get to the majority of Americans minds which are ignorant of reality and they believe him and all his words! UGH!
Shows like the Today show and the nightly news routinely edit interviews. If you want to see an entire interview, go to CSPAN. This dustup from Mehlman is one more ridiculous effort to smear everyone but the one who is wrong -- Bush & Co.
There is no possible way to defend the way Olberman responds to this sham of an interview. NBC is biased enough already and watching MSNBC is like watching a f'ing editorial.
NBC edited out a portion of President Bush's answer in which the President called out Richard Engel on making an error. Why did NBC think it was appropriate to withhold that information from the Today Show's audience? Can anyone look at Richard Engel again and say, "that man is an objective journalist?" As for Olbermann, when he gets his dander up, he looks like Niles Crane pouting about a poorly played opera.
Richard Engel is a biased journalist. He's biased toward the truth that he sees everyday on the ground in Iraq not to the White House spin that says that the "surge is working". Olbermann's righteous indignation concerning Bush's remarks is entirely justified. Bush can't keep spinning his BS assessments to a man like Engle who knows better. He can get Dana Perino to spew that crap to a bunch MSM lapdogs who are so far out of the loop some of them will buy it. But don't sell Engel's that crap.
"utterly misleading and irresponsible"-- sounds like words that define what the President said in the Knesset alluding to Obama. This president has the worst foreign policy of any American President since WWII. He would not know what diplomacy was if it bit him in the ass. The best tactic for the next President in the Middle East is to take whatever Bush wants to do and do the complete opposite.

Partisan Keith Olberman. He should have stuck to sports at ESPN which was his day job because when it comes to politics he is dumbner than a box of rocks.
Really? How so? This is nothing but a useless ad hominem attack. You are incapable of debating the substance of this piece, mainly because the substance is the Shithead-in-Chief's own words and his criminal treasonous actions. You are incapable so you make a stupid meaningless statement about Olbermann which you couldn't in a million years back up with any substance.
GTelles tells Deployable09 he has made an ad hominem attack on Olbermann. He goes on to tell Deployable09 the substance of D's presumed position "is the Shithead-in-Chief's own words and his criminal treasonous actions."
GTelles either lacks the capacity to recognize an ad hominem attack, or is OK with such attacks so long as they are aimed at people with whom he disagrees. Maybe he lacks a sense of irony. Or maybe GTelles is just selectively principled.
Perhaps you require a refresher on what an ad hominem actually is. Deployable09 trashed Olbermann personally as if doing that were enough to discredit the actual substance of he was saying. See, that's the logical fallacy known as ad hominem. Copy?
My calling Bush what I did is irrelevant to my response to Deployable09 because I was addressing his/her "argument" not Bush's many lies and crimes. And believe me, if you want to open that can of worms you'll be buried in nightcrawlers.
My. SOMEone went to college. You railed against Deployable09's "ad hominem attack on Olbermann." Then you called Pres. Bush the Shithead in Chief who committed criminal treasonous actions. Then you told Depolyable09 his only response to Olbermann was to adopt the Shithead-in-Chief's words and criminal treasonous actions. So you DO lack a sense of irony.
Self-anointed intellectual superiority. Unctuous condescension. You ARE an Olbermann fan!
Try reading again for comprehension. I never "...told Depolyable09 [sic] his only response to Olbermann was to adopt the Shithead-in-Chief's words and criminal treasonous actions."
And my sense of irony just TINGLES when I read this:" Self-anointed intellectual superiority. Unctuous condescension. You ARE an Olbermann fan!" Way to address the substance, lol!
So you clearly lack an understanding of what 'ad hominem' means. Probably 'irony' as well.
You are obviously, I guess, too smart not to see your own ad hominem attack. Ergo (that's latin), you must also be selectively principled. NBC edited out part of Bush's answer for its broadcast version of the interview. Why did they do that? We both know the answer. NBC is biased in favor of the Democrats. You will deny it vigorously, and accuse FOX of being biased against the Democrats. That's the beauty of being selectively principled.
Stop buying into the BS spewed by the man who has the WORST foreign policy of any president in the post-WWII. This was a man who was given enough rope from the press on his build up to the war to set the record straight. He chose to use the opportunity to LIE to the entire world to prop up a imperialist venture into IRAQ. He used that slack given to him by the press to hang himself (and take the reputation of the US to the gallows with him). ERGO, he no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Stop buying into the BS spewed by the man who has the WORST "news" show since Morton Downey, Jr. This was a man who was given enough rope from NSNBC and refuses to set the record straight. That's quite a statement, Gee, thanks. Clearly your intellectual equipment is more suited to the task, so why don't you point it out to me? After all "a man's reach should exceed his grasp" (that's Browning)...(he was a poet). Why don't you answer that first and then we can deal with your abrupt change of subject. (Bet you think I didn't notice that, you little dickens you.)
If Olbermann should have stuck to sports than Bush should have stucked to running failed businesses bailed out by his father's friend including members of the Bin Laden family. Sometimes it turns out that even a sportscaster can see through the big pile of crp that is Bush's foreign policy.
Bush is just babbling, tossing in disconnected talking points like chopped vegetables into a tureen. Meanwhile, Darth Cheney continues running everything, from a secure location.
