I love this band and the song is sublime. Every once in a while you get a band or an artist that really changes things, and this is one of them. BTW If you like this check out my music, it has a similar kind of vibe.
Creep is so overrated. people who casually know radiohead know them by Creep, which annoys me. I guess that's the same reason why Thom hated the song so much and stopped playing it live for such a long time. Despite my indifference toward the song, the crowd's reaction to it do gives me thrills. It is a song that everyone can relate to in some way after all. And now that they've grown to a great band, everyone do learn to appreciate their other work and not just by "that foockin creep song"
the crowd at reading was very young this year, all piling in at the front for kings of leon to hear only use somebody and sex on fire, that didn't really help kalebs mood haha! they do have 3 other older amazing albums, you youngsters should have checked them out
Radiohead are my favorite band, and I went to Leeds Festival. Alot of people at Leeds only went to see Radiohead for this song. I loved the set-list they played at Leeds, as I know most of the song's anyway, its nice to hear some of the less heard song's once in a while, instead of this boring, overplayed shit all the time
fuck me what a shit crowd sorry leeds blew reading away, we would have fucking screamed if they played creep at leeds, what a shit response when they started playin it
I heard that there was a small crowd for radiohead at leads... still reading>leeds just because we got a much better setlist. creep, karma police, street spirit, climbing up the walls, exit music!!!!
and where I was standing for this the crowd went fucking nuts, but then again I was very close to the front.
i think creep is really over-rated compared to a lot of their other songs. karma police and street spirit, fair play, they're great songs. climbing up the walls and exit music aren't better than the ones leeds got but reading didnt (wolf at the door, videotape and nice dream)
i live in australia so i'm envious of both reading and leeds goers but i dont think either set list was better than the other, unless you've only listened to ok computer and the bends.
oh yeah normally on my ipod i would of chosen morning bell/ nice dream/ wolf at the door on my ipod, but as i wasn't expecting it i was much more hyped for the rest of the show then if they had played nice dream at the start. and personally, I think exit music is one of radioheads best songs. the only song I'm actually jealous of is wolf at the door.
Creep isn't a great song, but everyone wants to have seen it for the sake of it. I was hear and it was an experience to say the least, but I wouldn't mind if I didn't see it live again.
They do not play it that often nowadays, over the years I think they got sick of playing it and it brought back bad memories for Thom. Needless to say, that is probably why they played this as an opener - to get it out of the way.
