I was skeptical about USC beating OU in 2005 for the National Championship. After that game, it's apparent to me that the clash of styles heavily favors USC in this matchup. I wouldn't pick against USC if they ever played Oklahoma again, regardless of the players. USC has too many athletes and their style of play is too much for OU to handle.

Repeatedly against Boise State. Even after blown call @ Oregon, D could've made a stop. Texas 08, Texas 09. Florida 08. BYU 09, Miami 09.

Every one of those games, Oklahoma faced situations where the defense needed a stop to save/stay in the game.

Brandon Crow (I think that's who it was) was absolutely lost. Also, special teams were a glaring weakness for Oklahoma. Musberger said of OU that year, "Oklahoma has too many good athletes to not be able to field a decent ST unit"
