I think you undervalue freestyle. If you do a really good freestyle it gives you way more points than if you do a subpar one. I'll pass people on live at the completion of a freestyle fairly frequently because they do a freestyle that's worse than mine. Some of the free style sections can actually net you a lot of points.

this is interesting, i am a righty, but i place with the opposite direction of buttons. (Btw the turntable on right, gadgets on left) Yet i can still pull off 4-5 stars on expert. I feel weird knowing others dont do this

when scratching with the green button you dont have to keep going back and forth you can rotate it as long as the button's still being pressed. thought it would help whomever. it helps me when my forearms are on the verge of cramping.

well, Ive played like 10 rhythm games and I had a problem with the single direction scratches in this game which hindered my scores to 2-3 stars for a couple days when I got it, basically I was holding the button too long and pressing the scratches too long.  If you have this problem try using smaller timing windows for the scratches

Great video, but for your points description you should include that the effects dial doesn't just increase multiplier, but also gives bonus points of it's own over time, just like being in cross fade.

Also for freestyle sections, you can get 200 points in each section. You will get 100 points for using any sample, and 100 more if you use a different sample. Additional sample drops will not give points beyond 200 though.

I'm still practicing on medium at the moment and seem to be having problems with continuous scratching. I'm not sure what im doing wrong as i have tried scratching fast and slow and it still keeps messing up in the long scratches. Any tips?

Yeah, doesn't matter how fast or slow you scratch as long as you keep the motion going.

The problem you are having is your start and end timing of the scratching. Make sure you start at the right time and let go at the end at the right time.

You actually made one mistake. You do get points for freestyle sections. You get 100 each time you activate a section, but not for each tap. So, if you see a freestyle section, if you only get points for on tap, but you ge a new 100 for each new section.

you actually can get 200 points per free style section. 100 points for dropping in a sample, and another 100 for dropping a different sample in that section.

you're probably typing in wrong keywords on youtube. This is a game like guitar hero. I wouldn't tell someone playing call of duty to buy a real gun and kill someone. See how that doesn't make sense? Btw, if you were to give me a real turn table (no idea how expensive & where I'd actually put it to use), I'd be happy to try scratching it looks like fun.

The freestyles actually give you a hundred points times multiplier for the the first hit, but no more points after that first one I think.

great question, i've been working on a definite reason. A few thoughts would be phrases like in vocals they have phrases that complete a multiplier. If you rewind after a long phrase it rewinds to the beginning of that phrase.

Hey, I'm a huge fan. Been following your stuff for awhile, and I also enjoy helping people out with the rhythm games. I actually have been picking up on this one rather quickly, ranked around 2nd place consistently.

The effects dial doubles the multiplier for a few seconds before having to turn the knob again. My advice is to get that timing down so you don't have to constantly turn it during tough sections.

This is incorrect... you DO gain points for turning the effects dial, in addition to the multiplier bonus. And to gain the most points, you want to combine a fast rotation with as much rotational distance as you can get.

no, your right, multipliers dont stack up, but you do get 100 point for freestyle mode, but you only get point once, so those super long freestyle mode lenghts are very pointless after you have hit it once.

THanks for the tip....the most useful one is the dail, i do what every begginner does is to completely remove my hand off the crossfader and use the dail thing.....but the one finger is def. useful. Thanks
