Brad Pitt for best actor? The performance wasn't bad, but please go watch MICKEY ROURKE in The Wrestler. That performance was legendary. Even if Mickey hadn't come out with this movie, Brad Pitt winning best actor would still be disappointing. There's nothing truly exceptional about his performance. first and foremost, there's no way you can say that this movie deserves to win best picture without having seen the other two biggest films of the year, which in my opinion were much stronger candidates. ripoff of forrest gump AND big fish, the only variable that's different is the whole theme of aging. in this video you say that along with brad's steady pace, he performs with "no stuttering or nothing." of course he doesn't stutter! he's reading from a script, and gets paid millions not to stutter when reciting the script. i suggest that you go see slumdog millionaire, and milk, because only after then will you know what a true best picture film is supposed to look like.

I guess this kid doesn't know how to do a movie review. After watching this review, I know that Benjamin was adopted, his dad dies, and so does his significant other. Also, Benjamin has a daughter with his significant other, and something bad must have happened to Benjamin that kept him from being in his daughter's life. Otherwise, why would she have to read Benjamin's diary to her? Couldn't Benjamin tell her his story himself?

this is how she got the diary: nearing the end, while he was a boy, i guess he was in custody of child protective services, and brought back to the convalescent home---his case worker gave the diary to daisy (cate blacnhette) and said that her name was mentioned a lot inside of it----sorry for a bit of a spoiler for those who havent seen it!

To answer your question friend about how Care's character got the diary. Benjamin left it therre for her and his daughter the morning that he diecided to leave them because he was getting younger. It shows him leaving it for them as he walks out the door to get on the motorcycle. For anyone who has not seen this movie, go see it, it is awesome, worth every penny. :-)

I read it. It's a completely different story in pretty much every way possible, besides the whole concept of Benjamin growing younger. I think I'd prefer a complete plot overhaul rather than if they tried to keep it faithful and made a bunch of changes.

Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005.

The reason why the adoptive mother didn't age as bad is b/c she's an African American woman. African Americans don't age at obvious as other races do. The movie did a great job in enforcing that fact about African American ppl.

Also, when the detective found young Brad, he gave Cate the diary, explaining how her address is all over the notebook. That's how she rcvd it.

BTW, I don't think it showed Ben giving his Diary (acually, it was his first will and testament, because he started a fund for his daughter) to Daisy, but maybe he left it behind when he left, or he dropped it off when he came back near the end, or... did he have it with him when she found him at his old home when he was a teen? I'm not sure... but he didn't give it to her when he was old enough to remember her.
