I don't know if someone replied to you yet, but to get the other half of the quilt, you need to get it out of the clock in Waffle Square.

You get the key from the mayor.

Just tell the mayor you'll fix the clock when he asks.

This may be a spoiler to some, but you have to have a level 2 house, so Gill can tell you the sprites hid it. It is in the clock tower in the Town Square Area.

Just talk to him & give him his favorite food each day. He'll be sure to like you soon enough! You have to make sure you get all the cut scenes from the guy, though. Or else you won't be able to ask him to marry you.
