Hi, I'm posting on my girlfriends account. I am a real Wildland Fire Fighter. I do this for a living, but I'm not anybody of any importance. You're very right this dose need to happen, it's unfortunate when it does, but it is as you say part of nature. On the other hand looking at recent trends, there maybe a link between "Global Warming" and increased fire activity. I'll start up my own account later, I'm on my way to a fire in 8 hours exactly. I'll try to get some cool videos.

This has nothing to do with global warming. This is how nature works, it burns to allow re-growth. This area has not had a fire like this since the early 70's. There are plenty of firefighters out there risking their lives to ensure the fire does not damage homes. This needs to happen so there won't be a worse fire in the future.

its only a few miles from downtown LA!  dang! and its so ironic that theres a category 3 hurricane so close to it, but it won't even touch the place. not even thunderstorms. thats ironic

Couldn't the Military organizations send out legions of chinook helicopters and poor water on it through the bottom of those big cylinder containers?? I know I saw something like that somewheres on tv...

yes MikeandJorge. lets just hope it'll work. problem is it problay go north east and go to arizona and utah,colorado. but ounce it gets there it gonna be weak and it gonna be a storm system.

Omg,this is horrible!!! I could see the flames from my balcony two nights ago,now they;ve almost dissipated,but the smoke is still in the air,omg I hope they get control of this soon,or L.A. will be all but destroyed,and not to mention the poor animals that dwell in those hills ;((((
