win32dasm is not required. I quit using it years ago. Will ollydbg's built-in disassembler, you do not require another program. Simply right click in the cpu and goto search for name in all modules and toggle a breakpoint on the export GetDlgItemTextA. You will break in user32.dll. Then you simply step back into the main module.

@casanova218 You probably don't know how anti virus programs work. they search for a pattern they recognize in code. some software contains some of these thousands of code patterns usually found in a virus/Trojan and implement it in a different way which is usually necessary to work properly.

I like when someone publish tutorials like this. Only a small detail, you don't need windasm to do such things. Ollydbg is enough, try using CTRL+N then write GetDlgItem to find it, right click , Set breakpoint on every reference and you've done with breakpoints.

I just did it twice, and I had the same probs as you once.

You need to delete the file that Ollydbg makes in order to do the trick again. Els just follow the guide. It's kinda simple, and really entertaining :)
