That 1471 has an awsome horn. Back in March of 06 that unit along with the 3868 came through to Midland in the fog, really great sound effects, just too bad I didn't own my camera then.
This crossing had two bells for as long as I can remember don't know why. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprized to see gates put up here someday as this is a well traveled road in the middle of nowhere.
This unit arrived on the HESR about five years ago and had a derailment shortly after twisting the front pilot. All us local fans thought she was toast...but they repaired her and now she seems to be doing a fine job in the thumb.
