  • @MikenomeD I'd say NO (about board interchange) :-(

  • Comment removed

  • So does it cause your electric bill to soar, or is it pretty easy to manage?

  • @MikenomeD Na, easy ... esp. sense I haven't so much as looked at a Train sense March! (me) *In in a "cold spell" rite now with the Hobby. (I'll be back tho :-)

  • I dig the hell out yof yours vids like this Tommy... The match books are cool... Your power station, mini nuke plant there.. lol... Looks really well thought out and tried & true tested... You're right about the power supplies.. I use a big mix for mine, of course on a very smaller scale, but same thought process... I had issues with TMCC having dead spots too... none with the DCS... Oh, really dig the phone at the console.. Another vintage piece my friend !!! Hope all is well man...

  • You are trying to cram too much stuff into my head. It's gonna explode! LOL Great upload.

    Chuck

  • @chiconian49 LOL ... "who me" ??? I haven't "run" Trains sense March of this year ... MTH disgusts me so badly that I'm at a point of no recovery. Calling, arguing, begging ... "pick your word". I feel / (felt) like I was the villain! *I don't want it anymore. TIME TO REST.

  • @TommyZTrains I blame The Big Bad Wolf, who's first name is 'Mike.'

  • @chiconian49 I met "Mike" in person probably a decade ago Chuck.. He's far from " Big"... LOL... A wolf, Yes... LOL...

  • @puttrainguy A 'Wolf' in snakes clothing.

  • wow man!!! that is amazing!!! glad i didnt have to set it up haha! thanks for sharing!

  • Wow.

  • Have you ever used the Atlas power supplies??? If so, how do they compare to the Lionel powerhouse transformers?? Thanks for all your videos they are awesome!! :)

  • @aocruiser No I sure haven't ... I did not know they had one. (Thank-you) !

  • Tommy,

Thanks for being part of the train community!!! I started this hobby because of your videos!! I like lionel trains for many different reasons but the main reason is the customer service! It seems like lionel does have a quality control problem but, every issue I have ever had has been fixed! I haven't made a commitment on which power supply I should use but after watching your video it looks like Lionel powerhouse bricks are the way to go!!! I have one question

  • @aocruiser Thank's "nothings perfect" and that's OK ... where you loose me is with a condescending attitude (MTH) ... A good analogy ? "MTH has everything and nothing". This is why my support has dropped off the map.

I sure hope things get better ! As far as your remark: I'm at a loss of words! HANK'S with all my appr./ respect OK? :-)

  • Great video Tommy. I'm a MTH man. They have more chooses to locos road name for the eng. model. I also thing some of Lionel stuff is over priced. Keep up the great work. Take care and stay safe out there.

  • @jlprailroad Thanks Sir ! (You do the same) ... all my best.

  • Great video Tommy. We're proud to have you as part of the train community. Thanks for the great info.

  • @nitromarc96 Marc : Thanks again and again ! *means the world to me ! "com'on over" !

  • @TommyZTrains I partly agree with you that Lionel has better sounds. However if you really analyze the chuff of Lionel Steam Locomotives, they do not have the realism of the MTH. I`m running a legacy locomotive as I type this, and frankly it sounds like the sounds are coming from a tin can, and this is true for all my legacy steam locos. As far as other aspects of train sound, Lionel is somewhat superior.

I thank you for your great videos.

  • WOW...only 2 AIU's Tommy?? LOL....thanks for the informative video, bro.

So, is it safe to say you're using the Lionel bricks to supplement the Z-4000's because they are "wimps" as you say?

I can say that as of now, I can run Legacy and DCS engines at the same time...but don't know how that will be once I had some accessories...lol

  • @Broncort1 I'm sure they'll be fine ! :-) *More AIU's are underneath table* "yikes" !! :-)

  • Hi Tommy... Great video... Great Job... keep up the great work and the video's coming.. thanks for sharing... Keeping fingers crossed no problems here...

  • Hi Tommy....I agree with you about trying to get interest in the hobby and things should work the way they should......I also agree MTH service needs improvement but I have more faith in MTH quality than I do in Lionel.....When I put a new MTH engine on the track I'm 99.99999% sure that the product will work the way it should....With Lionel I give it a 50% chance of working correctly and Lionel your paying for the name....have a great week!!!!

  • Awesome video Tommy! Your layout looks really nice and the organization looks nice! You seem really practical with your ideas. This gives me some great ideas with what I want to do with my layouts. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to see more!

  • Hey Tommy,

I just got my second 180watt powerhouse and with the two together powering my track its perfect! As you know I'm a Lionel guy, and I personally have had no issues with my Lionel Legacy system. Its so simple to wire and operate, and the issue with waving my hand over and engine has never been needed. Now my only compliant about Lionel is that their engines have been having a lot of little issues that need fixed. But their customer service is excellent. I've heard MTH is bad.

  • @PghTrainFanatic :-) One look says it all (with You) Lionel makes GREAT Stuff ! But for me, after that DieCast Veranda ... "that was it". It, along with ALL MY Lionel is 4 sale. I'm sure I will never run it again.

Ever hear of the old "rite-of-way" industries power supply's from the 70's ? ... BEAUTIFUL !!
