Wow, this is spectacular. Watched about 5 times in a row, What a beautiful song and graceful performance. Notice the Heineken bottles on top of the amps etc..must have been fun...wondering about the crowd that was there in Copenhagen in 72...
DAMN, I MISS THEM SO MUCH. SOMETIMES WHEN I WATCH THESE VIDEOS, IT MAKES MY HEART SO HEAVY. I CAN REMEMBER KNOWING THAT I WOULD BE SEEING THEM FOR AT LEAST 2 TOURS A YEAR.
Its amazing how the far the world has progressed technologically yet socially we are in a stone age specifically when it comes to todays 'music' scene. Its a generalisation but young people today are ignorant jokes who care nothing other than their narrow plastic world. Music such as this is not even comparable, not even in the same universe as the total and utter shit coming out today. I thank God at least once a week that the Dead existed. "...Thank you Jerry Garcia..." - Rick Danko
@runnut5 today's music festivals have lost pretty much eveything except for good music in terms of what the Grateful Dead and the generation that they came out of. It's all corporate bullshit and nitrous mafia these days. why must i pay $250 to see live music? not to mention the way that the drugs that once opened the doors have become accessory drugs that are distributed solely to make a profit. i do agree that there is such a thing as good new music, most of which stems directly from the Dead
@desolationrow I agree with about 80 percent of your comment. Except that there is good music today if not great music. Yes, most of the corporate radio music is bull shit but there are some pretty awesome and innovative musicians out there. You just have to dig a little deeper... YES! Thank God for Jerry and the Grateful Dead, but also thank God for the ever changing styles of music and the ability to share music more freely these days...
This is by far my all-time favorite song/recording of The Grateful Dead. Thank you for having access to and posting this video. Wish it went into the full version!
wow hard to beleive i was only 2 years old.they sure make great music together.like they would feed off each other and just make music everyone could enjoy.thanks for posting this.5 stars
What a lovely jam. Love this song. Weir gets to play that vinelike unfolding lick in the verse and this version really melts where nobody is leading, everyone is listening to each other.
Dead at their best folks..

This puts them (the current jam bands) all to shame as to the transportive properties of music.

We all thank that real musicians like yourself existed. Still a few young players try to rip that plastic envelope to show some character.

I'm glad a lot of thought went into that. It makes it all the funnier that no one here cares one bit what you think.

The Grateful Dead when they were raw and real, unreconstructed and simply brilliant!

In his own words:
" You take a solo, play a few bars and give it to somebody else. When you're a musician of this calibre, you will always remain."
