I no longer live at home, but whenever I am home, we make a point to break out our pipes and a black cavendish blend, enjoying a good smoke and a chat about life :)

I envy all of those who has a father! Mine died when I was 6 years old... I'm 18 now =) I never get to have my first beer out on the town with my dad, he never taught me how to drive, play guitar or all those things... I miss him!

I'm 18, and I'm thinking of picking up pipe smoking. I'm not into the unhealthyness of cigarettes, and I don't like the incapacitating effects of marijuana and alcohol. I've never smoked , but I want something to help me relax and focus that is not a pill. I'm very contemplative and pipe smoking seems like a contemplative hobby. I guess my main worry is the negative image and health effects. Can someone who was once conflicted on deciding to start pipe smoking tell me their opinion please

i smoke pipe, cigars, hookah and weed like a chimany but i dont inhale tobacco and i havent had any negative health effects and ive never heard of any from people who dont inhale tobacco.

except hookah you can inhale that kind of tobacco

A couple months before he passed, he moved quickly and gracefully. I could barely keep up with him when we were out walking. Is pipe smoking good? Absolutely.

@dreamland428 sorry to burst your bubble but I just wanted to let you know that pipe smoking is not "good" for you, it's just one of the healthiest ways to smoke since you don't inhale the smoke. there is no possibility of lung cancer since the smoke is not inhaled, but there is of course, a possibility for oral cancer. obviously, brushing your teeth and keeping care of your mouth takes care of that, so pipe smoking is not extrememly dangerous. it is not "healthy" but it's not that bad either.

His greatest joy was to smoke a pipe and have a shot of Brandy. My greatest joy to be with him, smoking our pipes together and talking about life.

Thank you for your beautiful comments. My father smoked English blends. He also had a local tobacco shop make up his custom blend called Buck's Blend. He stopped smoking for many years. One day when he was in his eighties I asked him when he was going to start smoking his pipe again so we could smoke together. He said "When I am old and in a wheel chair". I told him he was already old and why wait for the wheelchair?. We packed our first pipe together a couple minutes later...
