  • They could've fit right in at Motown and duked it out with the best of them.

  • Respect To Bob And The Wailers And The Musicianship Back Then. Hearing This Song Brought Me Emotions That I Could Just About Contain. So Use To Gregory's Version, Which I Love, But This Goes To The Top Of My List. Love It. X

  • Were There LOWRIDERS In Jamaica? Wow Now thats a Jamm

  • @psychs2000 nah Jamaica is a island of real people not fake low riders and shit

  • respect for this freeeesh lovers tune! a pearl!!!

  • right at the start (:08), he begins to wander with that lonely, heart-rending moan..."Ooohhhhhwooooohhh......" He holds it for 6 full seconds, following it immediately with "mmmmm...mmmm", deep in thought, deeply feeling something.....

  • Bob was in Delaware (working on a forklift on the nightshift). Vision (Dream) Walker is who joins Peter, here, backing up Bunny.

  • My God... What A song!!!

  • This song touches the soul. All that talent back then...it seems to have dissolved somewhat since then.

  • Jamaica pride

  • pure audio silk......

  • Wow I didn't know that the wailers have a version of this music as well. So soothing and mellow...

  • BUENA MUSICA GRACIASPOR SUBBIRESTE VIDEO

  • great chill out

  • Jamaican soul music at its best, reminds me of Billy Stewart.

  • The piano player is doing fabulous things is this song. The vocal work of the Wailers is fantastic, memorable. The lead vocal performance (this time a rare lead by Bunny Livingston) is fascinating.... and the background work is incredible (this time B. Marley meshing with P. Tosh - an unusual but awesome example of what B. Marley sound like working THE BACKGROUND vocals). Check out how the bass player is strum-plucking those notes too...wow.

  • @hitomusic oh man, im so delighted to find you commenting under all these tunes i randomly stumble upon: )

  • @moedemama thanx moe, this music is so right on isn't it.... thanx ASF1990 for posting!

  • @hitomusic I'm pretty sure bunny played bass before they met familyman and his brother, so that might be him on there.

bunny is mad underrated. some of the best wailers songs are his: dreamland, picture on the wall, tread oh, etc.

  • better than motown?

  • this song leaves a sadness inside me, but i feel as if there is love all around me. It is hard to explain, but I know Jah will guide my way. Jah's music is the Wailers.

    One Love

  • I love Peter Tosh........I never felt so free as a black music artist until I heard him.

  • Back in the 50's the British Empire was shook with a cultural explosion, the centres were New York, Memphis, New Orleans, Kingston, and London.

  • @heyzog Slight oversight, you obviously forgot, Detroit (Motown) and to a lesser extent, Philadelphia (Philly sound). Peace.

  • Listening to music like this makes me appreciate my country Jamaica. There is so much being said about our Jamaica, but when you think of the great talent that Jamaica produces it makes me proud.

  • @blueskyjazz im from iran living in US (babylon) and you cant imagine how I love to visit jamaica <3

  • yup thanks for the skinhead reggae mate

  • Bunny Wailer also produced Gregory's version for Solomonic Productions.

  • Woah, this is beautiful man!

  • That song took me to another place beautiful!!!!

  • Just to clarify, this is Bunny on the vocals. He wrote this too

  • SteveFosterMusic: That is true and interesting; Bunny Livingston is singing the lead line. You can really hear Bob M. in the background; his high, more cutting voice working the upper register to counter-point Tosh's bass voice - the three of them produce the most amazing, incredible harmonies(it's just ringing with harmonics). Just beyond the imagination - this fantastic music. B.Marley said he learned a lot about singing from his friend, Bunny L. (See Biography).

  • Wow...im ashamed i thought this was a gregory isaacs classic...so happy to know Bob created it before him... :)

  • I haven't heard this song in so long. Thanks for the post. But now you must tell me how you got your hands on the Wailers pre-70s. I must have them! Any info you have will be appreciated. Peace.

  • This is one of the greatest reggae recordings of all time, and in the whole history of music, in any kind of music. The PURE MAGIC is tangible. It's sensory. The spell it casts is haunting, beautiful. Like something from another dimension bridging it's way into ours. Like a dream crossing into reality.

  • Great Post! Have lots of The Wailing Wailers but this is new to me. Great Song!

  • Timeless monumental Greatness. The most amazing events in human history - this music.
