440c is similar to the AUS 8 stainless that Cold Steel uses. It is definitely in the upper mid range in blade steels

I have this knife 2 years. It is very good for hard work. (similarly like Gerber Gator) Handle made from aluminium. Blade hold up long time. Steel 440C is good.
I am satisfied.

Both the blades are the same thickness which is 0.1 Inches.
i think that Mtech has the "softest" metal for their cheap knives
