  • to screen print to cotton fabrics or papers whats the best mesh to use? whats the best T / US to use?? nothing complicated! xxx

  • I am a beginner screen printer. I have done some DIY screens due to low budget, but I am looking to purchase some mesh. The shirts I have been making have a huge print of a persons face on the front of the shirt. I am printing these in black and white ink. what would be a good mesh count to purchase? I will print by hand on a table top...no mulit set up stands or anything of the sort. Also what would be a good squigee to purchase? thanks for the vid. very informative.

For t-shirts I use a 10XX mesh and that pretty much works for any kind of t-shirt that you'll be making, especially on a lower budget. As far as a squeegee, anything will work as long as it's a straight edge that won't tear your screens. Check out MisterArt, they've pretty much got everything you'll need for printing at home. I think a 9 inch squeegee runs about $6 or $7 before shipping. Have fun!

    Also: Great video! Super informative.
