Bought the game today. Started the game, went into character creation. Laughs hard. Makes human fighter. Plays 10 mins. Exits game. Deleted game. Curse Atari for this piss. And becomes enraged at myself for wasting money on it. And wish I just went to Piratebay instead and got it from there.

@masterloard Come on, Icewind and Neverwinter 1 were pretty awesome. Altough Icewind Dale, was more like DnD meets Diablo, it still had nice gameplay and adventure elements, especially ID2, with all those subraces and subclasses, HoF mode and other stuff. I still play it like once a year, always creating a different party just for shiggles (six halfling fighters? Paladins and necromancers? Aasimar and thieflings? Dwarven wizards? Hellyeah!).

@masterloard Replaying the entire BG series right now. It's taken weeks :) But you're not quite right. The old Gold Box games were FANTASTIC (these are very old school, as in mid 80's to early 90's PC games, so you are forgiven for not knowing them), as was Neverwinter Nights.

@masterloard well. there was a few titles back then, that went just fine along the D&D. Had quite some serious games with Nwn1. Too bad that 90% of the players sucked at scripting and building dungeons. Had some of my best D&D runs there. Bg2 was good, because of the wast freedom. But that was totally Npc controlled, but one of the best singleplayer experiences i had untill this day, even after 1000 games later.

Thats not true, there were many good D&D Games in the past, Pool of Radiance, Champions of Krynn, Eye of the Beholder, Dark Sun, and so on, but i think you maybe to young to know them :-)

But i agree, Baldur's Gate was the best! Neverwinter Nights wasn't so bad either!

And don't forget Dungeons & Draons Online! :-)

Says on the case it's Forgotten Realms, I haven't opened it yet. I was and still am skeptical about opening it. But as someone who has started to read the entirety of the Drizzt series (all 20+ books) over again, when I saw forgotten realms I picked it up. Still going to try a demo first though. It looks like your typical dungeon crawl just with some bad camera tracking. perhaps the PC version has better control.

@labtob They are a bit. You can often find yourself looking in the wrong direction away from the action. Honestly, judging by the demo, it doesn't seem to be a particularly good game.
