Who said that there is no taarab in Kenya? Go back to the days of Johari Ochestra famous for the song Kasha, Morning Star etc. If we did not have taarab, what has been Zein Albdiin doing since the 60s? A song like Kasha was done long time ago and this is not Chakacha!

no girl it's not it's chakacha and chakacha is from the kenyan coast..it's similar to what you have which is taarab but still very different our chakacha style has more tempo or whatever you call it...

Who said that there is no taarab in Kenya? Go back to the days of Johari Ochestra famous for the song Kasha, Morning Star etc. If we did not have taarab, what has been Zein Albdiin doing since the 60s? A song like Kasha was done long time ago and this is not Chakacha!

does it matter? all the east african coast tribes share many cultures. from kenya down to tanzania. am kenyan and i danced this for high school traditional dance. so wacheni ugomvi, mipaka ni ya wakoloni, we are one people.

no girl it's not it's chakacha and chakacha is from the kenyan coast..it's similar to what you have which is taarab but still very different our chakacha style has more tempo or whatever you call it...

Have I been to Kenya... lol I was born and raised there kwani ulidhani natoka wapi? We have it all now because everyone is making taarab. It originally came from TZ is what i'M saying if you go back about 60 years..pwani tulikuwa na chakacha tu amd it died out because the taarab style started coming in so now kuna wa pwani ambao wanaimba taarab pia.
