I'd say that rapier has the advantage over a maul in many circumstances, simply because it does more DPS. You can get about 1.5 hits with a rapier in the time it takes to get one with a maul. Maul has better knock-out abilities, but the rapier is the best choice in many fights.

Reason its 214m is the same reason as the max cash pile. 31 bit Java is limited to 2147,000,000 bits, data types, values, whatever you want to call them.
