  • Wow, that organ sounds fantastic! No snare though? That's interesting.

  • Believe me, the band organ is real and working, as is every other item in the collection.

The curator told me that they aim to restore every item to 'better' condition than when it was first manufactured. The standard is exceptionally high.

  • @wurlitzerwilly I think its an artizan C with a 153 facade. I dont understand why teh 153 sounds like artizan C

  • @anglerfly Believe me, it's definitely a 153! This 153 sounds a lot like the one at Kennywood, actually...

  • @whoisthisguy724 Actually, this sounds like Dorney's 153!

  • If I remember correctly, this carousel was built new for them by Carousel Works of Mansfield, OH. The horses are wood carved.

  • Sorry for the additional comment...how many band organs does the collection have? The Wurlitzer 157 is in GREAT playing condition!

  • WOW! The carosuel looks like an M.C. Illions machine. Was this collection somewhere else at one time? The Wurlitzer 153 plays very well, but I don't hear the snare drum.

  • No, it's not open to the public, it's by invitation only, and is occasionally made available for the benefit of non-profit charities and collectors clubs.

    You could try contacting them:

    Milhous Group

    791 Park of Commerce Drive

    Boca Raton

    Florida 33487

    Phone: 561.988.2113

    Fax: 561.998.2114

  • What exactly do they have at the Milhous collections? I see various types of Mechanical Music machinery, as well as some vintage cars (?).

  • Please tell me you also recorded some of the other organs in this wonderful collection!

  • Yes I did, but they're mostly short clips, as we were limited for time and in some there is speech over them as an explanation was being given.

I've just uploaded the big Mortier and I'll try to find time to put a few more on.

  • Is the Milhous collection open to the public or anything? A Google search for it turns up nothing.

  • No. See above.

  • Just wondering also this is a huge a collection!

  • Is it just me or was the snare drum not working?

  • Must be you I'm afraid. To double check I just loaded it into Premiere Pro and stepped it through and you can clearly see the beater moving. :-)
