kicks resembles kungfu/taekwon do and barehand blocks resembles other martial arts like karate . This clarifies that kalarippayattu is the mother of all martial arts .
After about 5:30, the video shows weapon practice: kettu kari (staff), muchan (short stick), verum kai (long staff "against" shorter staff) and finally otta kol, the double-curved stick.
Verum kai starts at about 6:20, and looks very nice.
CVN kalari is not the last word of kalaripayattu. There are so many other methods which is far far better than CVN.
