SACHA, there is no need to hate Lexus. Some people can afford to drive one, others, cann't. We drive cars that we can afford right? Some people drive Fords, Chevys and so on. These are cars affordable cars. Tell me about the people who drive cars that are worth $130k or even $1.5million? It is ok, if they can pay for it, then can drive it. We do not have to get mad at all. Don't you think there a reason for them to drive thos type of car?

why the fuck would they not allow you to use the map while driving????? makes no sense? video while driving makes sense not to be used while driving but just a simple make WTF!

not sure. could be considered a video and hense a distraction as far as DOT laws go. not sure. could also be a license issue. lexus may not have wanted to pay for any sort of licensing to use the maps since they would be doing it for profit.

idk i really don't care about lexus at all, their so boring and of course are built by toyota so that makes it even worse, their just a waste of money.

sure if you don't have the opertunity to buy a high end car then sure go get an asian car, but not a toyota! there such bad cars! its a box of plastic on wheels, or a coffin on wheels, not safe at all, honda's can be impressive at times, but the best are mazda. their built quality for the price is great and i would buy one if i was in that stage of not being able to own a high end car.

yeah i would, cause i do not like to be driven by the car i unlike some others like to drive the car, feel the cars responsiveness, driveability! lexus can't compete with any other german brand and thats the way its gonna stay! their quality is pretty poor for ex the IS VS C-class VS 3series it stands no chance. And the features on lexus's are the same as toyota obviously and again, can't compete with any other german brands quality features.

it is not a good comparison because you are comparing three very different cars that have diff. perfomance specs. and are in different categories.

Lexus... inutuitive and not complicated. Mercedez and BMW .... Better memorize the space ship buttons. -owner of all three. Oh yea total cost of ownership is much lower for the lexus.

not really as bmw's awesome warranty just like VW has free maintenance warranty. besides toyota makes lexus and buying a lexus is exactly the same as spending $30k++++ on a toyota which are in the shits now thank god! toyota- moving backwards!

me being an owner of benz and bmw i don't think their complicated maybe if your not a tech guy fine but if not the average person can work it out fine. my friend had an IS350 for 6months and hated every bit of it cause the quality was so poor so he got a CLK350 cab and couldn't be happier. again lexus = toyota meaning moving backwards!

@westsideyamaha reliability is what does it for me, i own a 2008 328xi coupe and had a few minor engine problems where as i bought my mom a lexus 04 rx and it never neaded any repairs, edmunds and consumerreports also mentions how bmw and mercedes have really droped the ball in recent years were acura and lexus maintain their above average positions =\ im pissd because i think the german saloons and coupes look nicer

WELL I have this pos and compared to other systems this is garbage... the navigation in the new fords is 5x better... IN A TRUCK... best i've used so far is a aftermarket pioneer Z3.. very accurate AND user friendly once you take the time to learn to use it.

I dont know much about navigation systems but wouldnt it be better if you had a small application that you could put on your home computer, type up what destinations you want and then upload through a USB to your navigation system. All youd have to do then is choose the destination from the list you made and away you go. I think the one demonstrated here is not very good. I wouldnt spend my money on it anyway.

You don't have to wait for "her" to finish. Press the talk button a second time to interrupt her and give the next instruction.

My friend's Jeep Nav will not allow her to type input while driving either...

I think the color and graphics on the Lexus GS looks better than that of the LS. The one on the LS is less bright and cartoony. The interior of the GS is also cleaner and sharper. Although the LS is loaded with all the features the GS has and more, the interior of the GS,I think, is the sharpest out of all the Lexus models. Lexus should have placed this navi screen in their LS models. The material of the dash on the ES and GS is clean and sharp. Plenty of electronic technology in Lexus.

How to frustrate the hell out of someone! I've never had a Sat Nav; I have driven an average of 20k UK miles per annum, for the past 32 years. Thus far only ever had as many as 3points in total and very rarely got lost. This is due to a system I inherited called, 'human intelligence'. Predetermining maps and utilising a small bit of intelligent orientation. You might want to give it a go?

This is weird, on our 09 es350 when i press the talk button on the map voice screen it says i can only use it in the telephone screen, i rly want to know how i can reduce the climate etc. Plz someone help me!!

Hello, hopefully you already found the answer to this question. But if not, to change the climate all you have to do is just say the desired temperature. For example say "70 degrees" and the system will respond with "setting temperature to 70 degrees."

The Toyota / Lexus Navigation system is dangerous because it requires the driver to perform additional maneuvering (exit the freeway, ect.) to get the car stopped and then under way again.

Always look for a system that will allow the PASSENGER to input an address while the vehicle is moving. This important safety feature also saves time and gasoline. Honda, Mercedes, and the Hertz Never Lost do it right.

the voice commands allow you to input while driving. To have a driver playing with the Navigation system while driving is like textiing on your cell phone while driving. It can be very dangerous. currently MB and etc allow DRIVERS to do this while Lexus does not. There are aftermarket overides but we still feel the safest just like cell phone useage is to pull over and input info.

I disagree, OEM navis should let you to pull up your address book and just quickly set a destination from there.

I found the Lexus navi voice commands to be not useful and outdated and doesn't seem useful.

It took more than a minute to set that address! Pointless
