  • No more Rover. Now you can have a Chevrolet or a Chrysler or an Infiniti. Performance Rovers aren't a laughing stock. When I drive my British Racing Green 820 Vitesse, everyone looks at it. And they definitely don't seem to be laughing.

  • hohoho ^^

  • Rover did the same thing for about 10/15 years before they finally went bump - making cars that were nice to be in, good to drive and generally not bad - while they worked. That was never long enough to make them worth the pretty high prices they asked for them.

All they were lacking was quality and value.

  • £18000?! good god

  • really good car...

  • i've got a brm, and use it everyday

  • Ahh I loved my V.I.

  • i love this car

  • eighteen GRAND??? In 1998 aswell.Today that car is worth three thirds of fuck all.

  • @blaster2012

Sadly, your comment is worth a lot less than three thirds of fuck all.

  • @chazdango Who the fuck rattled your cage?

Ooh swearing, you are a big boy aren't you? I really wish people on here could be mindful of others and curb the cursing a little, so pointless. Please feel free to fire back with an arbitrary selection of vitriol at your discretion. Either that or accuse me of me of being a keyboard warrior et etc.

Personally I'd have a BRM as they were and still are cracking little cars. Plenty of them sold in the UK so I guess a lot of people considered them to be worthwhile purchases.

  • lol nice flat spots on the tyers after that handbrake turn

  • Fantastic looking car, Fantastic interior as well. I love this car. As far as I'm aware it's a 1.8 engine and 145 BHP as standard. I took one for a test drive and it felt a bit sluggish compared to my old Rover 220 GTi. I still love this car but it didn't feel powerful enough. Also I found a lot of rust by the boot hinges even though the rest of the car seemed clean. My heart said yes my head said no

  • @nckweeks Maybe it needed an oil change? new plugs etc?

  • In the end I had to get rid of the 220 Gti and I got a Honda Civic 1.8 VTi. It's similar to the Rovers I experienced in a lot of ways except the build quality is better and it's been more reliable. Not bad in the BHP area either although the torque could be better. Once it reaches a certain RPM though it takes right off and would leave the Rovers standing.

  • i want one!!!! i have a standard 1.6 rover 200 in green and i just gagging to get behind the wheel of a BRM that or a Sd1 Vitesse

  • idiot... just pure bollocks

  • LMAO!! O class video and brilliant car! Tiff can drive!!

  • yo puse mi rover 200 vi a 230km/h....en invierno (10ºC aprox)

  • lol 123mph, i know for a fact these will do 140 because i did 140 in my vi

  • The BRM has a different ratio gearbox, its closer together, dropping its top speed, it also has a diff.

  • the vi has a limited slip diff aswell

  • @goldsgym1244

  • well mine must have had one fitted aftermarket then! because it had one lol
