@monikhushalpuri I use medium grade fuel because she didn't seem to like regular. You shouldn't need to use premium fuel unless you put a turbo on it. A rule of thumb is the more compression that you put on your engine, the higher the octane to prevent detonation

@Rudzubise I don't know I think its about 5hp loss with the UEL headers. I really didn't feel a difference in power with anything done to it...It just sounds better

@notujoo no silencer it is a Cat back A'pex I N1 exhaust. I didn't like it with a silencer on, If I was gonna go ricer I figured I would go all out melon launcher

@morganstenz21 Its borla Unequal length headers, I wrapped it once but im not gentle on the underside of my care so the wrapping got shredded running over ice and snow. The headers were a little hard to get on, the bends on it don't really give much room to get a wrench in there to tighten the bolts. After the headers, there is the stock pipe which includes 2 Cats no resonator.

@tapout954 It sounds turbo but what your hearing is a small exhaust leak that you could only hear from that low of a vantage point.

@LostPrototyp3 the stock engine can only handle about 5 psi of boost and the turbo kits I have looked at are in the $4-5k range. You can get a wrx swap for about the same if you do the work

@LostPrototyp3 Neither of those options are really worth it. I have a 2003 ts myself and its just so god damn slow. Once you get into some snow you forget about everything though. I've heard some horror stories about people pushing more than 9psi. A wrx swap is so time consuming and costly that you're better off buying the real thing.

@LostPrototyp3 Some advice, from someone who knows. Please, do yourself a favor, and just get a 2002 WRX if you are going to get any Subaru from 2002. You'd be wasting time and money for less power than a wrx if you do a turbo build, and if you swap it to WRX drivetrain, well, that's kind of pointless, since a 2002 2.5rs + the cost of swapping = more than a decent WRX. If you don't have enough money right now for a WRX and that's the reason you're going for the RS, just be patient. Your welcome.

I was just trying to see if i can beef it up cause i've been hearing it's got no balls. @brandondenninger I have a cold air exhaust, borla headers and apex' I cat back. the cats are both stock. A high flow cat will make it sound a little raspy but it is not much of a change at least on my brothers S2000 I couldn't hear a difference unless I was in the car riding. The intake is where to go if you already have UEL headers and a catback. The short ram from AEM is more of a higher pitch and the CAI from Injen gives it a deeper throughty sound. The CAI sounds better IMO.

@Parsonat0r well the rs is good for back road driving but the WRX and the STI are both more suited for it. The 2.5RS has a relatively soft suspension compared to the other 2 variations. It all depends what you want to do. Rally X style driving it is good, because soft suspension handles better off road. I can attest it is a competitor at Auto X on the stock suspension. The rs is also a good base to modify because it is lighter than the wrx and the only one that comes in a coupe body style

@Parsonat0r the 2000 2.5 RS is an ordinary impreza with a 2.5 liter naturally aspirated engine. The US didn't get a WRX until 2002 and then got the WRX STI in 2004. The wrx is an upgrade to turbo on the 2.5rs and the STI is a upgrade on the wrx.

@Dooboo93 the wrx got a 2L turbo when it released in 2002 and the STI got a 2.5L turbo in 2004, and is using a 2L turbo now. I really don't know a lot about what other models got though.

yeah the only mods I did to it were to make it sound better. A turbo kit is what I would want but that costs close to 5k installed and only makes about 5-6 PSI safely on the stock engine

The headers and intake really make the sound. The longer Cold air intake sounds 100 times better at full throttle than the short ram air and gives it the deeper tone

Oh, here in Australia the RS doesn't have the scoop or the vents. I just bought a damaged 2002 RS manual with 100,000 k's. Really looking forward to driving it once I fix it up.

they dont do anything on the rs here unless you have the gravelsport intake which fits under the hood scoop. I have one of my vents open to bring in a little cooler air over the air filter now.

it is a good reliable car good for a first car. The AWD makes it very forgiving if you make a mistake while driving and also good for driving in the snow...I'm in Kansas there has been snow on the ground for weeks and I'm loving it.

uhhh, no lol. Okay are you asking is it possible or would it be comfortable? Cuz it would be possible if you maybe got like really low seat rails and a steering wheel spacer. The steering wheel does not telescope and you would need to sit so far away that you would be in an incorrect driving position.

I am 6'1 and it feels like I'm touching the roof in my brothers RS coupe. When I get back in my 02 wrx it feels like I'm in a bus after driving his car. Much more headroom in the 02+ years.
