  • Thank you :)

  • thanks mate real helpful :)

  • I actually noticed something when reading the book in studies.

They have the re-occuring theme of companionship and how it's lost, with Candy and his dog, and George and Lennie. As the description says at the beginnning of the book, Lennie is like a 'terrier' and in a way, George has to look after him, as if he really was like his pet dog. In the end, he had to relieve Lennie out of being off any worse, like Candy dutifully did with his dog. Was this foreshadowing for the end of the book?

  • 0 dislikes he deserves it :)

  • Exam tomorrow, this helped, thank you...

  • i always thought Curley kept his hand soft for his wife yknow for whoope

  • I've got my exam tomorrow, and this video has popped a few more ideas into my head, thanks!:)

  • Got my exam friday :/ anyone else think that Youll just forget about everything the moment you open the exam? :L

  • Does this work with the OCR extract based questions? Thanks.

  • @GAMERSELITE100 It'll be of use - but what you are really looking at in those questions is language analysis and link to the rest of the novel - some of this stuff will be relevant, but it's more your analysis being tested. Good luck

  • Have you the words,if you do could you send this email address please(Cabdi809@hotmaill.com)

  • URGENT PLEASE REPLY - i have to do a reveiw on lennie small

  • This is going to be a GOOD exam :D

  • This video helped a lot!!!!!

  • EASY PAPER TODDAY.

  • I answered the question about crooks today! :)

    thank you..... :)

  • thank you very much!

  • What about the recurring "C" in the character's names? We've got Curley, Curley's Wife, Carlson, Candy and Crooks. The only other characters are G&L and Slim, does this show their importance and individuality?

  • Yay last minute revision!

  • URGENT! SOMEONE REPLY!

Tomorrow when it asks a question about the novel, eg characters SHOULD WE COMPARE??????????!??!?!?!?!

  • @toby8880161 Compare wouldn't really come up here, unless your asked to compare the characters. These questions are more normally about exploring an idea/ theme/ character. It's the poems where you compare.

  • @WCSEnglish ok thanks,

one final question before i go to bed: when i get the paper to write on and the question paper, do i write a plan in the back and cross it out or something???? where do i plan?!?!?!!?

  • @toby8880161 Write on the page then put a line through it to show you've planned but don't want it marked. The examiners will be able to instantly get a feel for your essay.

  • MUCH LOVE FOR YOU <3 best thing ever

  • This is great, thank you so much! I didn't realise Curley's hand was a reference to slapping his wife . . . thought it denoted something more sexual - that's what my teacher and the CGP book suggest anyway xP I suppose that's two interpretations though. Good luck, guys!

  • @starrycup665 I know curleys a horny cunt

  • can we take a of mice and men book into exam

  • Just wanted to know whether we use our own copy of 'of mice and men' or do they give us one in the exam? thanks

  • @Matt123201 Depends on your school. At mine they bring their own, but most of my tutees will be given fresh copies. Take yours with you just in case - last thing you want is to be without one.

  • @WCSEnglish Thanks. I wish i found these videos earlier though, they're so helpful.

  • you sir are a don

  • Just thought that I'd let you know, you have

spelt the name "Lennie" wrong is some places on your text. You will see that in some places you spelt it "Lenny"

Just to clear up any confusion some people may have.

  • @iModProductions1 Late night rushing, but that's no excuse, poor show, apologies.

  • I think in some ways Slims character is actually unrealistic as the brutalized life of living as an itinerant worker in the times that this novel was set would of made it nearly impossible to maintain ethics and goodwill in the same way Slim does. Carlson in fact is a much more accurate portrayal of an itinerant worker-- the fact that he has to be told to 'take a shovel' shows us he lacks the empathy normal people have.

    (peter.jk@me.com)

  • Should we try and imbed our quotations like with poetry?

  • @swallowedtothesea Definitely, embed as much as you can quote-wise so it's almost like a natural extension of your own writing, rather than something you build up to

  • Hey, which poems for Duffy & Armitage are essential to learn? Also, do I have to learn all of the poems in the Pre-1914 bank? Seems like a lot of effort. Do all of Duffy & Armitage poems have to be learnt? Thanks.

  • @ZaraC1994 Hi, no you only NEED to know sonnet 130, on my first son, duchess and lab. They are the four that go with Duffy and Armitage, you can learn others too, but they are the key ones.
