Seems like they had fun playing around with filters in photoshop for a lot of the portraits. Lazy gradient in the background then add an effect to the ghosts.

I just picked up this game after years 2 days ago; went through and on my first time, got 11 of the ghosts in Gold, including Boolossus and King Boo. I only got 1 Bronze (Weston). The thing is that the ghosts seem to automatically break free of my vacuum, especially Luggs, Weston, Nana and Slim. I was wondering if there were any tricks that could help me to get the last ghosts in Gold? I'm going to run through the HiddenMansion as I hear the Vacuum has 150% suck power. Any more tricks?

Since I posted that last comment yesterday, I ran through the Hidden Mansion and got Gold on all of the other ghosts. I was pleased to actually catch Sir Weston on my first attempt on Hidden. The only ghosts I needed to restart my GameCube for were Boolossus and King Boo (1st run, Normal) and then Slim Bankshot (2nd run, Hidden).

For those attempting to get Gold:

-Do the Bosses on the Normal Mansion.

-Save before each ghost.

-Do the harder ghosts on the Hidden Mansion

I think that by rapidly rocking the control stick back and forth (away from and towards the ghost) it lowers their health faster, at least that's what I heard, and I'm gonna try it. Hope that helps.

Boolossus was the hardest for me to get a Gold Rank (I was using Hidden Mansion, though). Though, I finally did it (not taking any damage was a side bonus for me). Same with King Boo

@bayardojo well you can't upgrade them within the same game file. Depending on how you do against the portrait ghosts, you will get either gold, silver, or bronze frames. The only way to get more gold frames is to open a new game file, and get gold on all ghosts...

Its funny i been searching forever for an all frame ghosts video and never did, so I ended up making my own 1 year ago (bad quality) and a remake this year (high quality). I managed to do this on a single gaming file using up all 3 save slots, each slot with either all Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Im working on adding a new vid for all the mansion ranked paintings

Only Small Pearls: Bronze frame (For bosses, finish the battle with HP: 0 < x < 50)

Small Pearls and at least one Medium Pearl: Silver frame (For bosses, finish the battle with HP: 49 < x <90)

One Large Pearl and the other sizes: Gold Frame (For bosses, finish the battle with 90 HP or more)

@shadowliam7 Well really the best way is to just try and get them in as few sucks as possible. Try 2 at most. Also, the frame you get depends on which types of pearls you pick up. If they drop a large pearl and you pick it up, then the frame will be gold. Same with medium and small pearls. Otherwise there aren't really any tricks to getting better frames! Just practice!
