Lovely version of a lovely song. I had the privilege of sitting in the front row for Townes' last performance in Portland, OR about a year before he died. It was one of the highlights of my long, concert-going life. I always look forward to your new postings since your musical taste is so similar to my own.
John didn't just live in Texas, he lived in Fort Worth. He graduated from my high school's rival (also the alma mater of actor Bill Paxton). One of my friend's uncles was good friends with him in high school.
Nice job. Your version's very gentle. You know, Townes Van Zandt and John Denver were born three months apart and died in the same year, so they were almost exact contemporaries. Even though they were very different, there are some similarities between the two ("High, Low and In Between" could almost - almost be a John Denver song, for instance). Your strong Denver influence brings that out, I think.
nice

Nice job. Is the sustitution of the Cmaj in place of the Amin ("began to cry", "nobody heard") deliberate though?

Nice finger pickin! I love this song. It's funny because you're voice is kinda similar to willie's, don't know if that was on purpose or what not.

This is yet another example of a rendition I like better than the original. That was so nicely done.

Personally I had not heard of this artist before. The song suits you very well and you do a very good job of it again.

He lived here in MN for a time, too, though I was unaware of that, or for that matter of his existence, at the time.

They both lived in Texas for at least a while, too. Like another singer, here. I didn't know the song before, nice to learn it so pleasantly.

Townes wrote a song about my mama, Kathleen. Makes you think what people go through when you pass them on the street.
