If I missed the reason for why to begin the bore in reverse, I apologize, but could you expound on that? I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the physics of power tools. Thanks.
Great job - but at 9:48 it syas "soap" will work instead of slide ease. I have many people tell me to never use soap, because it attratcs moisture and could cause your screw to rust.
@bkerwood42 That could be true that soap draws moisture but I wouldn't worry about it. The kind of screws we use for guitar assembly are usually plated steel and the plating is highly resistant to corrosion. If you're still concerned about the soap, and can't find the slideez I suppose wax could be used as instead.
hats off to you Jason. You are Very meticulous and good at what you do!! I'd be proud to have you do any type of work for me..Keep up the good work.. I'm playing a mike campbell duesenberg now, but am looking into building a twangy sounding tele, and think Warmoth will be the way I will go!

After watching this i must thank you for all the ideas on installing the tuning machines, i have built a five string warmoth bass before and i used some of the ideas you suggest, but not all of them, however next time i build one i will use all of the tips from your video i can to make installing them even easier, i just had problems with the screws for the tuners at the back, however i managed to remedy them myself. Really good video, thanks.
@smbstressfest? Tc5525 probably just nails them in with a hammer. :) But anyway, your attention to these fine details does show you care about yer craft very much. Also liked the "squeeky clean" sound when you removed the sharpy ink at the 1:45-50 mark!
This is an awesome, incredibly useful series of videos. I can't find a guitar with the features I want and have no background in this sort of thing, but I think if I watch the videos about a million times and am extremely careful I might be able to attempt it. Thanks.
your'e very exact about these things man, i wish i had half the patience that you do, i once tried relicing a strat copy, mesed it up compleatley dude, now that im watching your videos, i keep thinkin, i shouldve done this or that you know
i love the way you work its as if u were working of gods guitar everytime u do something like its gotta be 100% perfection... i love that! gj man keep up the vids! 5 stars!
yes it may be tedious but absolutly and beautifuly nessesary, great to see that there is someone as overly cautious as myself. Great vids jason, keep it up. ever thought of banging these type of vids onto disc to make a dollar, just a thought!!!! I'd buy it fer sure!!!

Do you have to worry about countersink and counterbore if the neck it unfinished? It's only finish is an oil based sealer.
MitchRulzWorld 7 months ago
@MitchRulzWorld Probably not as much no, but I still tend to countersink slightly on holes going into unfinished wood though.

PLEASE REPLY:
Is the hot-wire and ground-wire made out of any specific kind of wire or is it a standard copper wire (like the one's used in lights)
thanks in advance!
flubbernugget88 1 year ago
@flubbernugget88 It's pretty much standard copper, although the wire gauge used is normally quite small.
smbstressfest 1 year ago
@smbstressfest
cool. what's the gauge you use/what's the prefered gauge?

I think that its much safer to drill the holes with a hand drill (not a powered one).

You're probably right. I don't own a bit brace or I might actually do it that way.
