My all time favorite actor. I love all his movies. Thank god I have TCM & can watch movies from the 30s-70s. For the most part they don't make good movies anymore.
Music, acting and other aspects of culture are always far better when a nation is proud and building itself. When a nation's culture is being uprooted and/or it's claim to greatness is focused on showing how well it can tolerate being invaded and desecrated, rather than on establishing its independence and strength, then naturally the quality of its arts and expression will begin to diminish.
@RunningWithSkizors The music is an extract from a track titled 'Big Band Montage' played by Henry Mancini and his Orchestra. Unfortunately no other information is given. BAZ
@RunningWithSkizors The first song is "Getting Sentimental Over You," played originally by Tommy Dorsey. I don't know who this trombonist is, but the tone is even sweeter than Dorsey's.
I don't find it a misrepresentation of feeling when i say ... I am in love with him. He epitomizes the sexy yet tender rebel. He had wits, looks, and character. What I wouldn't give to sail with him and have him hold me. I pray he's in heaven when I get there.
I came to appreciate his talent and acting range in 'In a Lonely Place' which is my favorite movie along with 'High Sierra'. Not just a tough guy. But a unique character.
:( why cant they hurry up and develop that technology to make people come back to life again, like they plan to use on walt disney, we all want to meet humphrey bogart! xxx
mis respetos para este actor, mucha clase y estilo, creo que varios de los nuevos actores tienen que aprender lo que era un actor con porte, y no una niñita metrosexual como suelen aparecer en las movies actuales, hasta siempre Humprhey
ah god!!! bogie!!! loved him, i always thought he was . i was surpan unhappy guy til he met bacall, they seemed to give it all to each other. bacall's bio book was great. i was suprised to read he was from a well to do home, he perfected the tough guy so well. nobody today like him, never will be. PLEASE never remake CASABLANCA, it would ruin the mood
I love this old wonderful black/white-movies. The 40s were the best decade of film-history. The best actors ever: Cary Grant, James Stewart, Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Movies: Casablanca, The Philadelphia Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Arsenic and Old Lace, Notorious, The Maltese Falcon, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, Bringing up Baby, Woman of the Year, Key Largo, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, All Through the Night, Angels with Dirty Faces, The Roaring Twenties
bogie is one of the best....but if they ever remade casablanca,,,jerry seinfeld could be rick.....jerry looks a little like bogie, there was some talk about bruce willis doing the remake back in the 80's.....
This version is played my Henry Mancini and his Orchestra. I suggest you go to Amazon and check out the Mancini album track-listings there as I have only the single version..
I'm 55. 1st 'classic' movie I ever saw was on 16mm at the local library, a screening of 'Maltese Falcon' when I was 12 or so. Changed my life. That's when I realized that there was a whole world out there, with a past present and future of its own. And of course, my first intro to Bogie.
Hi Natalie! Bogart appeared in many of the great Hollywood classics. Films such as 'High Sierra', 'the Maltese Falcon', 'the Big Sleep', 'Key Largo' and many others. If you 'Google' his name you should find his complete Filmography.
Bert Kaempfert seems to be very unknown artist, no shops have his CD's and i can only order best of CD which doesn't have this track...bah :/...would have been a perfect ballroom number for me.
Humphrey Bogart is my favourite actor. He was...amazing. In every movie, he was always the hero, he always delivered the last line and was always on top of things he was just GREAT. Love Bogie
Bogart achieved class through his integrity and devotion to what he thought was right. He believed in being honest all on his own terms and this persona showed through in his performances on stage and in films.
He became famous for portrayals of tenderhearted heroes with tough exteriors.
He was an incredibly talented, tremendous actor. While some describe him as less than handsome, I think he's one of the most handsome men I've ever seen. He makes men want to be him and women want him.
Thanks for this great tribute to Bogart!, a great actor and a very sexy man. I loved his acting. I really liked his voice. I was so disappointed when I heard he died.
Lauren Bacall not a legend??? are they kidding??? i'm 18... and i think, well, of course she's a legend, besides, she was married to bogie... and.... come on, the woman was beatiful, she was a great actress, she mae movies with great actors... she is a LEGEND!!!
I was recently looking at a thread on IMDB where users voted on whether classic actresses were legends. I was shocked to find the a couple of actresses I had never heard of and Lauren Bacall had been voted not legends! They're kidding!
yes, exactly. Ingrid Bergman didn't know bogie, they just appeared together in Casablanca, but he was MARRIED to Lauren Bacall, they were a team, and they were really in love with each other...

I cant beleive that they would find Lauren Bacall
unqualified? to be a legend, these must be very
young people not over 22 years of age? or symply
ignorant to Film History and Stars of HollyWood.
Bazaar?

Very bizarre. I think perhaps there was just a majority or ignorant people. Cos I'm only 16 and it is plain to see she's a legend.

Ingrid was to Humphrey Bogart` what Ginger Rogers
was to Fred Astair, THEY WERE A TEAM. Humpphrey had
a razor sharp tuff guy look` and it worked well
for him playing characters with dynamic range.
Excellent Music also.
Well done.
