@spudnick3490 Montgomery only won because of vastly superior forces and supplies, Patton was a great general who won becuase he knew what he was doing and his men did it. Patton and Rommel were the greatest Army commanders in World War 2

No offense, but what the heck were the Italians up to during this period? They decide to invade Africa and fail miserably. They wait til the end of June 1940 to declare war on France. They can't wait to surrender when the Allies arrive in Sicily then they turn on Mussolini as soon as possible after 20 years of his act. What was the point of all this?

Your average Italian was never really on Mussolini's nuts like the Germans were on Hitler's, anyway.
