@TheG645 I'm not sure if you ever used Meccano, but it is normally used for making bridges that are no more than 20-30cm. What James May did was usthe very same meccano, but lots of it, to make a massive bridge. Pity he had the safety harness, I'd have loved to see him tumble into the canal if the test had failed.
I would not worry at all.

I had a million meccano when I was a kid, used to build every possible structure but most ended up being scaffolding lol
