I disagree that it's human nature to be violent and greedy...it is a byproduct of survival and a male-dominated society devoid of "nature and nurture"...once we change our consciousness from one of greed/power to justice (not righteousness), love, and compassion for ourselves and others...things WILL begin to change
@zimminkie Well said......You are absolutely right and I for one have the same out look of people in this world. Time is to short and unforgiving to be fighting. Love and peace is the only way to better this world......
Very well spoken. The world we live in today, and have lived in for thousands of years, is dominated by elements of intimidation, power, greed, material gain, short-term-thinking to produce personal gain. This creates an enviroment which produces violence, unhappiness, hate, and a downward spiral for morals of Men. Love and kindness still exist, yet they are always overshadowed by the negatve. There is but one force in which lies our salvation, and that is love

@lottabubbles725 actually it is a language, it's an old Boroque form of English that is all but dead now in present day culture. It's almost like a cross between Celtic and Olde English.
@cmonkiii If you say so. She's said it herself that it's not a language. Either way, it sounds beautiful. "Gerrard sings many of her songs, such as Now We Are Free and Sanvean in a language of her own invention that she has developed since the age of twelve."
@cmonkiii "Gerrard sings many of her songs, such as Now We Are Free and Sanvean in a language of her own invention that she has developed since the age of twelve."
@cmonkiii It's not dead language, It's breton, it's spoken in brittany, west of France and Denez Prigent, who sings this song, was a teacher of this language. BTW it has nothing to do with english or olde english whatsoever, it is a celtic language.
You know a friend of mine asked me before i got here..... it was when we were all shipping out, he asked me,.. Why you going to fight someone elses war? what yall think your heros?... I didnt know what to say at the time, if he'd ask me again.... i'd say theres no way, nobody has to be a hero, its just some times it turns out that way. (This song went great with that line in the movie)
Sometimes I wonder how you guys can start to argue with such an anger and violence while listening to such a beautifull and peacefull peace of art. Well, I think it's just human nature and the reason we have wars and violent outbursts after all...
I think that if i can understand the words they are saying it removes the emotional understanding of the song. Plus english is such a flat boring language. I agree with you entirely.

"hahaha you yank make me laugh helping my ass iraq helping i think not somalia, vietnam and korea all embaress your nation you tit plus marines dont do all that the un do and other peecekeeping forces plus" makes no fucking sense
And while I could go on and on, here's a final q2uote from James Madison:
"If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare... they may appoint teachers in every state... The powers of Congress would subvert the very foundation, the very nature of the limited government established by the people of America."
SOrry Baycat, but your "education" on the Constitution is sorely lacking. Might I suggest learning the intent of the Founding Fathers by actually reading their words?
"...reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle..." It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible.
What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ.
I venture to say that Washington's definition of "Liberal" is vastly different from what yours is, Baycat...
Maybe you ought to learn about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers on your own-rather than what you were taught in school.
For instance:
The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God. -John Adams
This happened in 1993, under clinton's administration, he also signed to take out the gunships, I've have had the honor and privilege to meet one of the little bird pilots that was there, and he is convinced this mission was designed to fail from the beginning from high up
Both singers are fantastic... they can make us feel so deeply, which is such a good, real thing. Especially if by chance it helps us to do something good.
fantastic..we are seeing the greatest army in the world being used to attack its own country...you welcome your army to enter into other contries with full support. will you be so readily accepting as your army forces you into the fema camps and takes the things you have wasted your life to obtain, including your children...while your government hands over control to outside agencies!...great...well done, what a great army!
hi i'm from Russia....it's true that your army is powerful....but our army is powerful too....and i think you couldn't beat it....how can you tolk there about honor, duty, your families....in iraq or afganistan you need one thing-oil...
where are you study russian?...in russia we study your language in school...when i was a l ttle boy teachers sad that thtis is the language of our inted enemy))
We are sharply divided, and the political machine of lies and swift-boating continues. The old saying about repeating something enough times that it becomes truth is too true. There are too many in this country with the 'cowboy mentality. I hope President Obama can bring us back to the ideals put forth in our Constitution.
I'd be happy if Obama *knew* the ideals put forth in the Constitution!
Individual responsibility, limited government due to a fear of letting government get too powerful, acknowledgment of God as the source for all rights, morality being necessary for a free society to keep from self-destruction-these were the ideals that the Founding Fathers had in mind when writing the Constituion.
Didn't learn that in school though, did ya vjlink? ;-)
In my day and age we were actually required to learn the Constitution, to know that the word God was never used, deliberately. That morality was never a matter of religion - having seen the example of governments run by it.
There is nothing in the Constitution, or the document that preceded it, the Declaration of Independence, that says anything about individual responsibility or limiting government. George Washington himself wanted a more liberal society, for that offered the most liberty.
I'm waiting I was waiting, waiting for a long time In the dark shadow of grey towers In the dark shadow of grey towers
In the dark shadow of rain towers You will see me waiting forever You will see me waiting forever One day it will come back
Over the lands, over the seas The blue wind will come back And bring back with it my wounded heart I will be pulled away by its breath Far away by its stream, wherever it wants Wherever it wants, far away from this world
its depressing the mogadishu conflict shouldve been our graveground because we shouldnt have never been there i mean really what dop we have our interests over there, we should stop the us, poking into everyone elses business in the world we are the mosdt hated people in the world!!
No americans aren't the most hated...I for one admire the willingness to make someone elses fight your own. You as a people have national pride that is lacking in most countries in this world. It is true what u say about America sometimes choosing the wrong fight, but i still believe that choosing not to stand on the sidelines and committing to a fight to help those who can't help themselves is an honourable ambition.
aha .....and then the tooth fairy brought you oil and stuff; don't talk to me about honor! people get killed and cripled in the name of it. america never waged war for helping other nations.
and what happened in Mogadischu? Here read this: In December of 1992, President George H.W. Bush ordered the U.S. armed forces to join the United Nations in a joint operation known as Operation Restore Hope with the primary mission of restoring order in Somalia. The country was wracked by civil war and a severe famine as it was ruled by a number of warlords.
And by the way I was talking about the conflict in Mogadischu and I know what happens in war, been there myself. So don't preach to me.
The whole Somalian conflict would have been a succes if only the US contingent there wouldn't had relied on intel from the local civilians, read more about it at wikipedia, and you'll find out that one incident made the whole Somalia turn against the US forces there.
Thanks for the information man. I appreciate you not going off at me and giving me a chance to broaden my horizons - respect mate :) Not many like u on youtube - the majority tend to swear and shout at one as soon as u drop a comment. Thanks again.
No probs tilog75! It is sad that kids (or sometimes grown people) act immature over the internet...
@bogdan1bogdan not every fight had political reasons behind it (sometimes it is later used as one), but as far as I know, Somalia isn't a rich oil country. I don't think that you never lend a helping hand to anyone in your life (yet), because then you would know what feeling is to help people in their needs, and that is what I think US was trying to do there.
im british and we were in kenya at the time and we were told to stand down!! we had 2 battalions !! (1200 men willing to help) but politics got in the way and we got sent back to england !!which really pissed me off after men died!! we were guilty of that!
my dad was in Somalia with the Rangers, he said the only reason why theywere over there was because the UN asked us us to go in there, y is that, maybe its because we have the most powerrful military evryone turns to America and if u think about it most of our soldiers do what they do for honor and to protect their families it kills me to hear people talk so poorly about our country and our men
yeah your right you do have the most powerful army in the world, but you really shoudn't be so damn ignorant, cuz nobody here said "who gives a shit about usa" ;)
The US does have one of the biggest militaries in the world, as well as the most equipped. It's weaponry is also highly advanced. The US could beat any other militrary in the world in conventional warfare.
Man this song is awesome! Its relaxing just to listen but it also means a lot at the same time. Its a really weird feeling when I listen to this song... Like you feel sad but relaxed at the same time. I duno...But thanks conor for serving my bro is on his second tour in Iraq and has been to Afghanistan. Dumaz is thinking about joining special forces haha...But i wonder whats it harder on when someone goes to war. The soldier~going through it all or the family~not knowing?
ive been to war 3 times,im an ex Royal Marine Commando and every time i hear this song it sends shivers down my spine ,i love it ,to all that have fallen and to those who remain standing tall you have my respect and so does anyone who watch this ur the best rember 2 have a momoent peace to say thanks to all who have died they will alwys live in my heart
You sound like an incredible, brave person, you have my total respect. I can see why this song is close to you, i cry whenever i hear it, my brother is serving in Afgan at the moment, and it's his favourite song. X
By the way, the song (music and lyrics) is from Denez Prigent, recorded on his disc "Irvi", and later was added to the movie. It was not composed by Hans Zimmer (who created the other musics in this movie).
I was waiting, waiting for a long time In the dark shadow of the grey towers In the dark shadow of the rain towers You will see me waiting forever One day it will come back Over the lands, over the seas The blue wind will return And take back with it my wounded heart I will be pulled away by its breath Far away in the stream, wherever it wishes Wherever it wishes, far away from this world Between the sea and the stars

Might I suggest learning the intent of the Founding Fathers by actually reading their words?
drfang68 2 years ago
From T. Jefferson:
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
"To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
"I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious."
drfang68 2 years ago
Three quotes from George Washington:
"...reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle..." It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible.
What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ.
I venture to say that Washington's definition of "Liberal" is vastly different from what yours is, Baycat...
drfang68 2 years ago
Baycat,
Maybe you ought to learn about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers on your own-rather than what you were taught in school.
For instance:
The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God. -John Adams

This happened in 1993, under clinton's administration, he also signed to take out the gunships, I've have had the honor and privilege to meet one of the little bird pilots that was there, and he is convinced this mission was designed to fail from the beginning from high up

fantastic..we are seeing the greatest army in the world being used to attack its own country...you welcome your army to enter into other contries with full support. will you be so readily accepting as your army forces you into the fema camps and takes the things you have wasted your life to obtain, including your children...while your government hands over control to outside agencies!...great...well done, what a great army!

I think like any other political figure, there are mixed feelings about this man.
mason1011 2 years ago
We are sharply divided, and the political machine of lies and swift-boating continues. The old saying about repeating something enough times that it becomes truth is too true. There are too many in this country with the 'cowboy mentality. I hope President Obama can bring us back to the ideals put forth in our Constitution.
vjlink 2 years ago
totally agree, i am part of an org that does not condone that though. the founding fathers would be very upset
btownsuperstar 2 years ago
I'd be happy if Obama *knew* the ideals put forth in the Constitution!
Individual responsibility, limited government due to a fear of letting government get too powerful, acknowledgment of God as the source for all rights, morality being necessary for a free society to keep from self-destruction-these were the ideals that the Founding Fathers had in mind when writing the Constituion.
Didn't learn that in school though, did ya vjlink? ;-)
drfang68 2 years ago
In my day and age we were actually required to learn the Constitution, to know that the word God was never used, deliberately. That morality was never a matter of religion - having seen the example of governments run by it.
There is nothing in the Constitution, or the document that preceded it, the Declaration of Independence, that says anything about individual responsibility or limiting government. George Washington himself wanted a more liberal society, for that offered the most liberty.

I didn't say you're not right. Unfortunately you're. But it's not the false of the people who fight, but those who send'em.

I'm waiting I was waiting, waiting for a long time In the dark shadow of grey towers In the dark shadow of grey towers
In the dark shadow of rain towers You will see me waiting forever You will see me waiting forever One day it will come back
Over the lands, over the seas The blue wind will come back And bring back with it my wounded heart I will be pulled away by its breath Far away by its stream, wherever it wants Wherever it wants, far away from this world
Between the sea and the stars

its depressing the mogadishu conflict shouldve been our graveground because we shouldnt have never been there i mean really what dop we have our interests over there, we should stop the us, poking into everyone elses business in the world we are the mosdt hated people in the world!!
mtlgrad93 2 years ago
No americans aren't the most hated...I for one admire the willingness to make someone elses fight your own. You as a people have national pride that is lacking in most countries in this world. It is true what u say about America sometimes choosing the wrong fight, but i still believe that choosing not to stand on the sidelines and committing to a fight to help those who can't help themselves is an honourable ambition.
tilog75 2 years ago
aha .....and then the tooth fairy brought you oil and stuff; don't talk to me about honor! people get killed and cripled in the name of it. america never waged war for helping other nations.
bogdan1bogdan 2 years ago
and what happened in Mogadischu? Here read this: In December of 1992, President George H.W. Bush ordered the U.S. armed forces to join the United Nations in a joint operation known as Operation Restore Hope with the primary mission of restoring order in Somalia. The country was wracked by civil war and a severe famine as it was ruled by a number of warlords.
And by the way I was talking about the conflict in Mogadischu and I know what happens in war, been there myself. So don't preach to me.
tilog75 2 years ago
The whole Somalian conflict would have been a succes if only the US contingent there wouldn't had relied on intel from the local civilians, read more about it at wikipedia, and you'll find out that one incident made the whole Somalia turn against the US forces there.

Thanks for the information man. I appreciate you not going off at me and giving me a chance to broaden my horizons - respect mate :) Not many like u on youtube - the majority tend to swear and shout at one as soon as u drop a comment. Thanks again.
tilog75 2 years ago 2
No probs tilog75! It is sad that kids (or sometimes grown people) act immature over the internet...
@bogdan1bogdan not every fight had political reasons behind it (sometimes it is later used as one), but as far as I know, Somalia isn't a rich oil country. I don't think that you never lend a helping hand to anyone in your life (yet), because then you would know what feeling is to help people in their needs, and that is what I think US was trying to do there.
Pusztuljka 2 years ago
im british and we were in kenya at the time and we were told to stand down!! we had 2 battalions !! (1200 men willing to help) but politics got in the way and we got sent back to england !!which really pissed me off after men died!! we were guilty of that!
woodandy3 2 years ago
my dad was in Somalia with the Rangers, he said the only reason why theywere over there was because the UN asked us us to go in there, y is that, maybe its because we have the most powerrful military evryone turns to America and if u think about it most of our soldiers do what they do for honor and to protect their families it kills me to hear people talk so poorly about our country and our men

The US does have one of the biggest militaries in the world, as well as the most equipped. It's weaponry is also highly advanced. The US could beat any other militrary in the world in conventional warfare.

By the way, the song (music and lyrics) is from Denez Prigent, recorded on his disc "Irvi", and later was added to the movie. It was not composed by Hans Zimmer (who created the other musics in this movie).
