@aaron1912 what version of the charleston is that at the 7min mark!? i'm desperately seeking a fast version of the charleston but all i ever find for sale are slow to average versions!
HAHAHAAHA!!!!!!!! this is the best video ever!! i love the transition from 19th century to 20th century!!!! That is the only and best way to understand the significance of the JAZZ AGE. Dancing, character, formality....all of it just changed! Their world was literally turned upside down...and they loved it. :-) thank u!
@luvebug21 Yes. My mistake. I meant to say 18th century. And not to say that young adults of that time, or any time, weren't crazy little party animals. But i'm sure the music of their time didn't reflect it as much as the later generations.
Dan Levinson and his band. The track on the CD is called Let It Rain, Let It Poor, but it really has two songs in one. The second half of the song is My Castle In Spain.
Sometimes I think I was there back then. I like that Northwest Passage video. Why do I have vivid dreams in colour about Vancouver BC in 1922? God, I've really been around forever.
I'd like to know what is the name of the song that the sailor is dancing the Charleston to? - and who's the group playing the song? I'd like to add it to my 1920's music cd collection. Thanks.
The British having fun in the '20's! I love it! I especially love the sailor breaking into the Charleston during a military parade. He's certainly having fun! He's even got the dog's attention!
I can't remember, I got the audio sample from amazon. I just typed in harpsichord in the search and look for audio samples in the available cds section.
Thanks for that advice! I finally found it! My plan is to learn it by heart on the piano.
I love your channel by the way. I've always loved jazz; specifically jazz out of the early 20th century and your channel is a gold mine of music, so thanks! :D
This video is so cool! I love the 1920's! The music, movies and of course the flappers and speakeasies! XD Thanx for posting!
